With the talk about a new Crow film... I have to say, the original Crow is the treatment that I would most like for DD. It really seems like they sort of went that route in the first one, but not as well. The visuals, lighting, texture, tone and action of the Crow was WAY better.

Is Proyas available???

Not for Fox.

Proyas was interested in the Silver Surfer film but he'd be great for a DD movie, too. That guy's range is amazing.

After his last experience with Fox, the making of I, Robot, Ales Proyas swore that he'd never work for that studio again, unless Tom Rothman left.

Understandable.
I wouldn't work for Fox either.

They ruin movies.
For example, compare Daredevil to the director's cut. Yep, that was all Fox.

It strikes me as backhandedly apologizing that when Fox released Daredevil on Blu Ray, they only released the Director's Cut. Not that the theatrical would sell, compared to the DC. But, I have to wonder if for every subsequent release of the film to a new media form, if the theatrical cut is staying in the vault, leaving the DC as the new 'official' release.

Daredevil DC looks great on Blu Ray, by the way.

First, I think Marvel should get the rights to Daredevil back.

I don't necessarily think Marvel would make it any greater than just a popcorn flick like the new Hulk was. I would like someone other than Fox but that isn't gonna happen and neither is given the rights back to Marvel unless the new movie bombs.

I never even realised that Michael C. Hall was in the Affleck starrer 'Paycheck':-

Funny how things work out - I hope Affleck didnt say anything bad about his experience playing D/D that might put MCH off taking the role (should he ever be offered it).

Yes... Alan Rickman as the Sheriff of Nottingham talking with his cousin...

Yup; played by Michael Wincott.

Who was also the bad guy in the Crow film which was mentioned previously.

freaky.

Holy smokes... that's right... Wincott was also the guy who played the evil music promoter in Strange Days, which featured Ralph Fiennes, who was in Quiz Show with Nick Tuturro, who was in Transformers with Shia Lebouf, who played in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull with Harrison Ford, who was in The Fugitive with Tommy Lee Jones, who was in JFK which also starred Kevin Bacon... woah, I do believe that is six steps.

Michael Wincott was in Three Musketeers with Kiefer Sutherland who was in Flatliners with Kevin Bacon.

Ben Affleck was in Reindeer Games with Charlize Theron and Charlize Theron was in Trapped with Kevin Bacon.

Geez, what the hell have I started?

I'm pretty sure the thread maker didnt intend this place to be a 'six degrees from Kevin Bacon' thread.......

:D

I see... Kevin Bacon is not just at the center of the Movie universe... he is at the center of the Comic Book Movie universe.

Kevin Bacon is the Dark Knight of real life! It all comes back to him! :funny:

I'd be up for a new take. Y'know there were some plot holes and the pace of the movie felt uneven and rushed at times, but the DD DC is not a bad movie. It's not amazing, but it's decent/pretty good. And it's too bad Fox made Elektra instead of continuing that story, because DD was a box office hit. A modest one, but still.

They didn't continue because it was after DD the Affleck backlash due to JLo began. But c'est la vie. I would have liked to see MCD as the Kingpin more. He was very well cast in the role, but he never got a chance in DD to really own it and a Born Again-styled sequel would have let him. Oh well.

BTW if it stays at Fox it will suck.

I can't help thinking that the DC might not have been as well loved if it had been the theatrical cut.

so here's a rough draft of the casting i would like to see..
