Might as well go for the reboot.

Sequel, or loose sequel would be ... ok. But a reboot just might be the shot in the arm for a Daredevil film franchise.

Affleck says he won't return,

Which is weird because none of the movies he's done since have made as much money as Daredevil. In fact, only four of the other movies in his repetoire have out-sold DD at the box office.

I would think being in higher profile movies is better for his career, yet he treats Daredevil like it has the black plague.

Either way, sequel or reboot, that's fine.

I'm so glad I own the director's cut DVD. This movie rocked.

DD's better off without him.

It is one of his better movies, but I see no reason to force him into it.

Someone else can be Murdock.

I think since a fair amount of time has passed, a re-boot ala the INcredible Hulk would be best route IMO. Marvel can improve on it or tweak it just a little, not that the 1st DD was a steaming pile, but maybe go a little darker like Dark Knight. DD is Marvel's BEST choice for a dark ,brooding style other then the Punisher.

I don't care, as long as the film is done properly. Whether it being a sequal or a reboot.

Even though I liked DD and would love to see a sequel, I'm not sure that would be the best approach. Simply because what would be the point of making a sequel to the film that received a mixed reception and most people probably have forgotten by the time the new film hits theater? So a reboot may be the better option.

Reboot.

Please try again Marvel. Give my favourite character his due. Daredevil is a great complex character with some great stories and interesting villains. The last few years of comics have provided plenty of great story ideas for films.

I'd love to see a sequel to the reboot focusing on Bendis' "Out".

The origin was handled competantly in the last movie. No need to do it again.

I say sequel with the lead re-cast, MCD reprising the role of Kingpin and definately, positively, no Elektra.

Marvel isn't the problem, it's Fox.

Good idea. :D

Reboot. Get a new cast, and definatley lose the jacket collar.

And for sure keep MSJ away from it.

I thought Daredevil was a ok movie, it was far from terrible imo. I think they should basically do what they did with the hulk, that way we don't see the same story again. I would love too see Marvel Studios make the movie instead of Fox, pssh who wouldnt.

REBOOT!
I agree that I would like to see Matt Damon in the role, but I'd bet dollars to donuts that there is NO WAY he would do it after his partner Affleck has already filled that cowl.
I'm heavily on board with the others that want this "Dexter" actor: Michael C. Hall! I think that he would fit both roles like a glove.
MCD back as Kingpin would be very cool too, IMHO.
Most importantly: KEEP MSJ AWAY!!!!! (Sorry, he's been cool to us all on these boards and he's a fellow comics fan, but it's time for a fresh look for this one!)

I agree about Michael C Hall, but I think a reboot with any of the same actors would only confuse, So I'd say recast Kingpin.

I've got the Daredevil DVD (Director's Cut) lying on my table, but I haven't got to it yet. I hear good things though, and if it IS good, I'd go with loose sequel. Affleck said something along the lines of "I'll come back if __?__ is directing it (I think it was the Clerks guy)" and although he has said some negative things about it, I think he's at the stage of his career where he'd be looking at all the other popular Superhero movies, and wanting some more for himself...

Although apparently directing is working well for him.

Since the first Daredevil movie was crap it should just be rebooted and if it cant be rated r it should just be a hard pg-13 movie.I also agree that Michael C Hall could make a great daredevil and even though it would be a reboot I would like to see michael clark duccan return. He did a great job as the kingpin and was the only highlight of the last movie one thing they should for the kingpin is that he needs to come off as more ruthless (I heard he is in the directors cut)and a bigger threat to daredevil which the movie kinda lack on.
