I think my favorite idea suggested here is to do a TV series, instead of a reboot/sequel.

Yes, most superheroes don't lend themselves to the constraints of TV shows but Daredevil would be almost perfect on TV. Why? Well, for one, he's a much cheaper character than most; his powers can be portrayed subtly and his main enemies (Kingpin, Bullseye, Typoid Mary, The Hand, etc...) are mainly assassins, hired hands, gangsters or ninjas, as opposed to the costumed super villains that, say, Spider-Man has to contend with.

The most important reason, though, is that instead of being another superhero TV show, Daredevil would function perfectly as a crime drama...with a superhero in it. I think the best approach here would be to do something similar in tone to Bendis' run. Keep the focus more on Matt Murdock than anything else but adapt the classic Frank Miller story lines.

This is just my thought but the more I think about it, the more that I really do think Daredevil would be better suited for a TV crime drama than he would for a big-budget action movie.
100% agreed! Though I would like to see an animated feature film as well.

How Micheal C. Hall would look as Matt Murdoch

Do we have any news about a Daredevil movie coming up? How is the deal with Fox or whoever owns the Daredevil rights.

It's Daredevil, the movie named after the sight-challenged hero played originally by Affleck. Regency is mounting the remake with former News Corp No. 2 Peter Ch producing. Writing the redo is screenwriter David Scarpa, who scripted The Day The Stood Still for Fox, which will distribute Daredevil 2.0 or whatever it's going to be called reason this is happening is simple: Hollywood studios with Marvel superheroes need to reinventing these Marvel movie franchises or the rights revert back to Disney-based Ma Fortunately, the properties are as resilient as the indestructible superheroes themselves.

So their idea is to get the writer of a movie that's widely considered as "meh", to do the Daredevil reboot eh? Good going Fox. You never cease to amaze me.

I want another Daredevil, and I honestly don't care if its a reboot or sequel....but thats me.

reeks of DBE make it to not lose the rights

Agreed. I bet they spend like a buck on making this film and get Uwe Boll in lol.

I wonder why Marvel lets them get away with doing it? Surely it would be in their interests to let the rights revert to them and then make their own Daredevil film.

My thoughts exactly.

DD works as a crime noir so they should have gotten someone who knows how to write crime dramas. Like the guys who worked on the Shield.

For the love of God, Disney, take the Marvel properties back from Fox by force if you have to! You cant just stand idly by and let them continue to **** things up.

Or take it a step further and reboot it for TV!!

Hell no...keep it as a film. Whats the point of making it a TV show?
Because it would be so much easier to get a fresh start and tread new ground as a TV show than with another movie IMO. It's a great urban mythology, a lot of which is grounded in reality, and it would make more sense to explore things in a series format rather than a 100-120 min film. If done right, I really think a DD show on FX or HBO could be like "The Wire" of superhero shows.

Wow, this is no surprise.

I don't care what any of you Fox apologists that never learn have to say, this is typical greedy ass Fox trying to milk it some more. Especially love how the article mentions that there's a good chance it's in response to the whole Disney merger and how they own the rights to the majority of the Marvel verse.

You getting worried about losing the rights Fox so you pump out which is sure to be another half assed film. Worst part is they get the guy who wrote the remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still...this sounds like a winner.

I feel sorry for all you hardcore Daredevil fans that didn't care for the first and actually demand quality in a director, writer and production.

I don't know how to feel, either FOX reboot it now, or wait for Disney/Marvel to regain the rights, because as soon as they re-gain the rights they'll probably reboot again.

Whatever happens please give Daredevil the movie it deserves, it has so much great material to build upon, and is one of the few characters I'll follow no matter how good or bad the stories are.

I hope Disney/Marvel gets the rights....FOX is doomed to fail....
