The point is, if you do this movie you have to make a movie that is totally different. It has to be night and day different from the 2003 movie. And I'm sorry to the people that even like it, but it's true.

Daredevil was a failure as a movie franchise. Sorry that's the fact. If it wasn't they wouldn't be trying to reboot it right now. Elektra bombed as a character. She was the least interesting character in the entire movie, and no one left the movie wanting to see any more of her, yet Fox gave her her own stupid movie and it tanked.

Karen Page had like 2 lines of dialogue and was barely even in the first movie. Karen Page is an extremely important character in the Daredevil mythos and has been for years. Having Elektra, Kingpin, and Bullseye along with Daredevil's origin all in one movie was an absolute mess. Why? Because that meant they had to shoehorn an origin, love story, and death story for Elektra as well. All in 96 minutes. It was counterproductive.

How about Scott Porter as Matt Murdock / Daredevil:

what bout john ryes davies being kingpin? he was good rnoughin trial of the incredible hulk

The star of Burn Notice...could be a good Daredevil

Love Burn Notice, but I've personally got Jeffrey Donovan pegged as Namor.

In an ideal world, the two leads of my favourite tv shows (Dexter and Burn Notice respectively) would get their chance to headline big, comicbook franchises:-

Jeffrey Donovan - Namor, the Sub Mariner
Michael C Hall - Daredevil, the Man without Fear

I agree with this. Karen is an essential part of DD's story. She needs her "time" on screen. Which is why I want her for the first and if they want to make more depending on this one's success, then they can introduce the other main female's in DD's life. But with Karen, she's like the icing to DD's cake. She should definitely be the female lead in this one.

Hmm..Maybe for a younger version of DD, depending on what they want out of the actor for the role. I'm not denying he has the "look" for Matt as I think he does IMO, but I'd rather Porter also stay in contention of Flash/Wally.

I can actually see him more as Owl instead of Kingpin. But that's just me..

Emmanuelle Vaguier for Echo:

Side note: I got that pic from the Catwoman casting thread and I know Vile has got to like this choice after her appearance on Human Target. :p

I've enjoyed her work in most of her TV appearances like CSI: NY and most recently in Human Target. She's a good actress IMO, she just hasn't had that "major role" in a film quite yet. I still think she'd be a good choice for Echo though. She has that look of beauty of and the look of kicking some ass, which is what Echo reaked off during her first appearance in DD's world.

Does Elektra really need to be in a reboot though? I'm not hating on her, but I don't think she's necessary to tell Matt's movie origin. I know there would be the temptation to put her in there because of how connected she is, but I think they can do without her until a possible second movie. I say to focus more on Karen.

I think Elektra shouldn't be in Daredevil at all, give her a film without DD.

Nope, she doesn't have to be. She had all the time to shine in the other film along with also getting her own film which was..terrible. For this one, it deserves a fresh start and what better way then to start with one of Matt's true loves? Karen has been apart of some great DD stories over the years, so there's no reason why they can't make the move to translate that on screen. She should really be the love interest for the first and other females heroines/villains can be introduced in possible sequels.

With this one, I want them to show how Karen's been practically apart of Matt's life since his early DD days and so on.

So what do you guys think of Vaguier as Echo? :O

If not, I was thinking Cote de Pablo who playing Ziva on NCIS. Her character there reminds me a bit of Echo. Full of beauty but behind those eyes lies one hell of a fighter. Plus I think Cote has that "mystery exotic" type look to her which Echo offers in the comics.

I'm a fan of the director's cut of DD and I agree with you about how they tried to fit all of that in one film. While the director's cut is a lot better than the theatrical version, it would have been sooo much better if they cut Elektra out entirely and saved her for a sequel. I still wish they would have cut out that lame ass fight of theirs in the playground.

Yeah that fight scene was...horrendous. I hope for this one, the fight scene's are top notch. And what better way to have DD kick some serious ass then by having him square off against The Hand single handedly. (Sorry, couldn't resist that one :oldrazz:)

It could make for some good fight sequences, visually.

The Hand would be a nice villain. It gives DD a nice zombie type villain in the sense that you have hundreds of villains to dispose of without worrying about anything but the action.

One of my few complaints about a reboot is I loved how they did the effects for how he sees things via sounds and vibrations. I hope they stick to that in the reboot.

I loved the effects too. Maybe they keep the same feel, but make the color red instead of blue. I think that could work.
