Assassin's Creed II is a good way to reference a DD gaming concept. The way Ezio moves around or climbs, etc. If ever we get a Daredevil game with that kind of feel it'd be ideal. I think a game could be made well with roaming around Hell's Kitchen and other key parts of New York. As well as some cameos, etc. DD moves around NY through his billy club and parkour. So I'd also like to see that.

I think Batman: Arkham Asylum set the bar high in terms of quality because you did feel like you were The Dark Knight himself. Like the fighting style, gadgets and so on. I'd like to have DD's fighting style with that kind of freedom that Batman's had in the form of DD being a master of ninjitsu. And I'd like to see the radar sense like how "Detective Mode" was used.

This is awesome news. Atleast they'll have some good source material.
i havent played BAA but i only hear good things about it, but i actually really like the hand to hand fighting in AC2 as well as the rest of its game play

but i would love to see the radar sense play a role and be important and such
Spidey, Hulk and Logan have had their games, now give us some DD!

You should definitely pick up B:AA when you get the chance. It's the ideal bat-game and the sequel is promising to be even better. A lot of the elements used there and in AC2 would be a good place to start for a DD game. Make it happen dammit! :cmad:

BTW, considering the latest report mentioned Brubaker's run being a part of the film, these are some of the villains I can remember. Based on which story they go with, off the top of my head:

Mr. Fear
Lady Bullseye
The Owl
Matador
Gladiator

im stuck with a PS2 for a game system, but i got a buddy who says BAA is a great game, ill see if next time im over there he minds renting it again

if you go back somepages, i had a basic outline it hink might work that actually used Gladiator as the villain in DD1 then Bulseye in 2 and i forget the DD3 one

i would love a sequel to the original with born again as the storyline. it fits like lock and key

Hopefully you get get around to it.

Gladiator could work well if handled correctly. I mean if Whiplash can be made to look serious, why not Gladiator? I think there could be some awesome fight sequences between he and DD where they go toe to toe, along with his shooting edged blades.

Also, current DD writer Anthony Johnston is a fan of MCH for Daredevil and offers some other choices:
Michael C. Hall is a fan favourite to play Daredevil over at CBM. What do you think of that and do you have a personal favourite for who you would to see play DD?

Johnston: I think he’d be a fine choice, sure. The main thing is finding someone who can simultaneously combine the heroism and vulnerability of Matt Murdock, and Hall could definitely do that. But so could someone like, say, Damien Lewis — who I’ve also seen proposed by fans, but that might just be because he has red hair...! I don’t know if I have a personal favourite; honestly, I haven’t given it that much thought, I’m not one of these writers who “casts” a comic in his head while writing it. How about Zach Quinto? He’d be an interesting choice.

Hmm..was this ever posted? Clark Duke (Kick-Ass, Hot Tub Time Machine) spoke about his wanting of being involved in a new DD movie.

Are there any comics you’d interested in adapting yourself?

[Pause] Yeah, I wish they’d let me write and direct a reboot of Daredevil. I think there’s definitely a way to do Daredevil correctly that nobody’s figured out for some reason.

What would you do differently?

It’s not really worth talking about.

Oh come on, we’re at a comic convention and you’re starring in a comic-book movie…

First of all just tonally. I would completely… he’s a pulp hero, I think you address it, you have to have respect for the reality of it to some extent. And also I think you play with, the most interesting thing about him is he’s a lawyer who’s committing crime every night, he’s a catholic that dresses up like the devil, there’s all this thematic stuff that’s so fun to play with, that’s so awesome, I think [Ed] Brubaker’s run is my generations’ defining… I think they’re honestly better than the Frank Miller run. And somebody should make that into a film.

And that somebody is Clark Duke.

Like Fox is gonna let me… start that rumor, maybe they’ll call me. I could write the hell out of that Daredevil movie though.

Have you written non-comedy before?

The book I optioned that me and Pink are writing is kind of a crime caper. It has some darkly funny moments, but… I call it kind of like a hillbilly Goodfellas, tonally. Hopefully you’ll be hearing about it this summer. Start the rumor I’m directing Daredevil though. That’s really exciting to me. That’s really ****ing exciting to me.

Who would you cast?

Man… Edward Norton would have been perfect but he just played the Hulk. God this is tough… how about Jeremy Renner? What about Peter Sarsgaard?
While I don't think it'll ever happen, this guy seems to understand what it'll take to get DD done properly again. Not to mention a sense of passion for the character. I hope (whoever writes the reboot) has that same quality as well.

My cast of DD's world (or bits of it anyway):

Daredevil: Michael C. Hall
Elektra: Kate Beckinsale
The Kingpin: James Gandolfini
Bullseye: Timothy Olyphant
Typhoid Mary: Stana Katic/Rhona Mitra
Echo: Cote De Pablo
Lady Bullseye: Maggie Q
The Owl: Eddie Marsan

Any suggestions for Gladiator and Mr. Fear?

i liove it. although i don't think he would take it avoid being typecast, but if none of that stuff mattered, i would be behind this.

Wizard mag just cast Bradley Cooper as DD in their casting call. Funnily enough, they cast Guy Pearce, my personal pick to play DD, as Mr. Fear.

guy pierce was a frontrunner when batman went into the hands of nolan.

i could see either as DD. although i think copper would have been better suited for a not-so-depressing role, more like the flash, GL...

def a good choice of guy pierce. or his co-star from hurt locker

I honestly wouldn't mind Cooper as he has interest in starring in a comic book role. He's my top choice for Green Arrow if a film ever gets off the ground. But as far as DD goes, I wouldn't complain. Even though I firmly believe MCH was made for the character. There's something about his face that reminds me of Gene Colan's interpretation of Daredevil.

And Pierce is a great choice for Mr. Fear.

Kate Beckinsale is a bit too old and typecasted as a female fighter. Honestly I don't see the need of Elektra even with origin story. My ideal DD movie is not a reboot anyway, but a loose continuation of the early 2000's movie. Having Gladiator, Mr Fear or Black Tarantula is much better than showing the Kingpin again.

as long as she shows up later and is played by Rhona Mitra I'll be happy

**************.com put this up yesterday - EDITORIAL: Why Michael C. Hall Is Perfect For The Role Of Daredevil!

It's a pretty good read.

I like the sound of James Gandolfini as the Kingpin.

@ Spider - Man can you name everyone that Wizard cast for a Daredevil movie

@ Spider - Man can you name everyone that Wizard cast for a Daredevil movie
Here's their full cast:

Bradley Cooper as Daredevil
Summer Glau as Elektra
John C. Reilly as Foggy Nelson
Crispin Glover as Bullseye
Yvonne Strahovski as Karen Page
Tom Sizemore as Kingpin
Alicia Keys as Typhoid Mary
Mandy Patinkin as Owl
Guy Pearce as Mr. Fear
Keira Knightley as Dakota North

I think I'd cast Daredevil a hair younger than some of you are; I'd do center my story around him being just out of Law school, with a (sorry for the pun) blind faith in the law, and have that faith dashed when his father's death is swept under the rug by cops on the Kingpin's pay role.

I'd also show him training with Stick, meeting Elektra, etc. But I wouldn't blow the whole load on one film. It would be mapped out as a trilogy that wouldn't reveal Kingpin's role in everything until the 2nd film and we wouldn't see the final confrontation until the 3rd film.

^ No problem.

I really really really want to see scene where Stick is teaching Matt that there's more to his blindness like in Daredevil: The Man Without Fear:

I want a reboot so bad and i don't want collin farrell to have anything to do with bullseye. I also could not stand Bullseye's costume. I think they could've spent more time on it.

Fox is usually awful on all their superhero movies. There are a few that i like but most of the time they dissapoint me. But back to Daredevil, i do want this to be rebooted but i heard they were giving this movie to the guy who did "The Day The Earth Stood Still" remake? That's just what i heard as a rumor. If that's true, then i don't want to see the reboot. I'd personally like marvel to get the rights to All of their Characters. But that's in a different life.

Scenes I'd like to see:

1. For me, this scene is essential. Both as an iconic scene and to show the movie goer just what Daredevil deals with every night. I'd open up this scene with some kind of good music as DD dives off a building (yes, I know we got that in the other film but this is different) - and show various scenes of DD swinging and using parkour until he stops on top of another rooftop, the music in the scene stops and there's utter silence. And then he just hears...everything. A woman crying for help, a police siren buzzing by, a TV playing while the window of the building he's standing is open, snowflakes falling like shattered glass (it's snowing in this scene), and so on. And as you watch this scene, you get the sense that he wants to be everywhere to help keep the streets safer but he can't - which is why it's a night to night thing.

To describe just where I'm going here, I'll use part of a panel from Denny O Neil's interpretation of the character:

"He stands still as stone then, and concentrates. It is something he does supremely well. He listens. Smells. Feels temperature changes. Finally, he sends forth the mysterious para normal signal he calls his radar and heeds the information it returns to him."

2. Stick training Matt and showing him how to master his radar sense. And that although he's blind, Matt is still capable of doing all kinds of things. Think Yoda teaching Luke. Another thing would be Stick teaching him about The Chaste and The Hand (whom adult Matt will later encounter later on in the film for an epic fight sequence).

3. A nice court battle. Again I know we got that in the other movie, but this is who DD is by day. So there has to be a scene like this again showcasing Matt's best efforts to deliver justice during the day and night. Judge, jury, executioner.

4. Daredevil has a long history of loves in his life. (I think he's second to Wolverine. :o) So my pick as far as love interests go is Karen Page. I'd like for it to be displayed how much he loves her and where his affection goes. I'm not too sure if Bullseye would be in this but having Karen as the love interest for the first would set up the plot of having her killed in a potential sequel...And Matt goes beserk.

5. Flashbacks of Battlin' Jack Murdock.

There's loads of potential here and where this film can go if things are done properly. (But this is Fox we're talking about so I'm not holding my breath.) But really, this can turn out very well if it's under the helm of someone who understands the character and his huge story.

Thoughts?
