I think when we are talking about a reboot, we should avoid a remake, there should be something new with this film. We already saw a film with DD's origins where he fought Bullseye and Kingpin, I don't want to see that film again, I want to see something new.

I guess a reboot. Marvel's reboots thus far have been underwhelming. I loved The Hulk but most people thought "meh" And that Punisher reboot was horrible.

I like The Michael C Hall idea.

I also loved the DD Trailer when the Evanescence picked up.

I don't want a Daredevil movie to be made until Marvel Studios can wrangle the rights from Fox. Then, go for the "loose sequel" approach of The Incredible Hulk, with a new cast and new direction without necessarily having to retell the origin story. Perhaps go over it montage-style, again like with The Incredible Hulk. Make the movie darker, grittier, and base the film on Born Again.

agrees, and thats the only way to do it. Like Ghostrider and Fantastic Four, Daredevil got more things right then wrong. Those movies all captured main idea of the movies, just a few things were off in them. No need to retell whats already been told. Just either fix things in a sequel, or simply do a hulk type reboot, where it really could be a sequel, but its not.

I agree, give me something new in a Daredevil movie. No need to rehash an origin again. New cast and crew, show montage during credits, and jump straight in to a new story and action. I'm usually sick of all the "dark n gritty" talk around here, but I have to admit Daredevil lends itself to darker themes. Make it so

I love the DD film, especially the director's cut.

I'd like a loose sequel, too. I have no real complaints about the one we've had already, but I would like it done by Marvel rather than Fox.

I truly feel that Daredevil is meant to be an hour long live action TV series on Showtime, HBO or at the very least Space/Sci-fi network.

Make it dark, make it gritty. Make it one part Law and Order, one part Dexter and one part Heroes. Keep it realistic and dark and have long running cases/story lines.

Make people care about Matt and Fogey. Make people feel for Karen.

Take inspiration from TDK, Miller's run on Daredevil and the more recent runs of DD with Alex Maleev.

I would LOVE that show!!

As far as a movie...I would like a re-tooling, not a re-boot.

Funny, that's the only version I've seen. And I say funny cos I posted something similar about Blade Runner, in a reply to another post of yours.. :oldrazz:

The DC is a much better film than the theatrical cut. It actually showed the other side of Matt Murdock. The Theatrical cut treated DD much like the first couple Batman movies treated Batman. There was no character development of...the main character...who is Matt Murdock, not DD. We didn't get to see him being a layer, or investigating etc...we saw him brood and be in love...and be a superhero.

The DC is underrated and it was a really decent superhero movie.

the scene with Matt Murdock trying to drive the car to scare info out of that guy was pretty good. The DC was an improvement, thats undeniable, but it still included all the other crap that i didnt really like (the silly effects and action scenes and plenty of corny lines)

I do think that with a better script and director, the cast would have exceled, Affleck and all.

Agh.. I just remembered the Evanescence tunes..

Agreed.

DC was a much better film, but it stll had so many flaws. It's like they tried to mix the dark nature of DD with the lightness of the Spider-Man films and it was unsuccessful.

I really like Affleck as an actor, and was intially pumped about him as Murdock, but after seeing the movie realized he was just wrong. Something was just off about him.

Colin played Bullseye way too corny and over-the-top. Michael Cark Duncan didn't quite work out as well as I hoped, but he had a couple of good moments.

One of the things that bugged me was the narration of Affleck throughout the movie. It was very necessary. None of the scenes required it and often it was just for the sake of corny lines. "Iwaited outside for my dad, in some ways I'm still waiting" Ugh!

I think MSJ heart was in the right place, but this movie just did not gel they way it could have.

Oh and Daredevil does some neat aerial stuff in the comics, but there was no need to make him do a flip every 5 seconds in that film. I mean seriously it became so stupid to see him cartwheel or flip all the time.

As soon as I saw you'd responded, somehow I knew lol.

Just gave me an idea for a thread. :yay:

I agree. I wrote something similar a few pages back. I said the directors cut was good, and I got these crazy responses from people, freaking out! Like I insulted their mother or something. Glad to know someone else thought it was decent. Could it be better in a reboot? Of course!

There's always room for improvement... but I try not to be greedy. I'm just happy that some of my childhood heroes are being given a chance to shine on the big screen.

I didn't end up making it lol

I was going to make a thread about Director's Cut films, but got distracted :o:D

Saw a blue car? (Simpsons reference)

No, a black pair of shoes :oldrazz:
At least you didn't get your clothes stained.

Anyway.. I can see Daredevil fans aren't as enthusiastic with manips as other comicbook fans in the Hype are.. why is that ?

Because I can't manip 4 Sh** - The closest I've ever got was posting a few Michael C Hall/ Matt Murdock comparison picks a while ago which I see pop up from time to time.

I'd dearly love to see some MCH/DD manips.

Anyways, I consider myself not just confined to being a Daredevil fan.

This took me about 5 minutes, but it gets the idea across. I'm definitely a big fan of MCH as DD.
