I'm diggin that idea Rich, if they are proper gritty and violent. But I would like to see MK get his crack at the big screen. I feel he deserves it.

I agree... I just feel that MK needs some time in front of viewers to build a relationship before a film would work (he is not really well known). Granted, neither was Blade, so straight to movie could work... Bottomline, MK is a character that needs to be put on screen.

Really? The only one? Not even The Shield, The Sopranos and other good, awesome stuff..?

Actually, yes, The Shield and The Sopranos are awesome too. But I mean The Wire is the only US TV show I closely followed and made sure I watched every episode.

I watch and like other US shows, but I don't go out of my way to follow them and watch them you know?

Since they didn't kill off any of the villains, my vote is Sequel. mmmmm... men dressed it tight red leather.... yummmy.

A year ago I finally read "Daredevil Visionaries: Frank Miller Vol. 2". If you haven't read it, you shouldn't be posting on this board. Anyway, I kept reading it and going, "Well that's in the movie, and that's in the movie, and all this stuff from the books is in the movie." So to me, sticking to the source material was not really the film's problem; at least no where near it's biggest problem.

Villains for a reboot series should be

Kingpin
Nuke
Bullseye
Elektra

You are amazing! :hehe: I've got some red leather pants...

no, not really :D

And I'd want to see the return of Bullseye. Favourite Marvel villain.

What were your main faults with it then? My only problems was the mis-casting of Elektra, the stupid playground scene and some dodgy CGI in places.

Excellent question...
I'll probably be reiterating stuff that's been said a billion times already, but who's counting. The problems with the overall tone I blame on Mark Steven Johnson. Even under studio pressure, a skilled filmmaker ought to be able to strike the proper tone. As for the dodgy CGI, I place that blame more on the studio, who were trying to rope in the Spider-Man crowd, but also tried to cut corners and not pony up the cash (DD's budget was just over half of SM1's).

On the subject of Elektra, I happen to think that Jennifer Garner was adequate for the role that was written in the script; unfortunately that role is not really the Elektra character of the comics. I blame this more on the overall Hollywood trend of female roles getting screwed over in some way, especially in superhero movies.

if we get a sequel awesome, if we get reboot, if well made, still awesome!

Cool, cool.

I agree with pretty much everything you said.

Garner is a good actress, that shouldn't be doubted. But you are right, that wasn't Elektra from the comics.

But I feel the DC was very dark and gritty. Sure the theatrical cut should of been the directors cut but oh well, that's the way the industry works sometimes.

Yeah. A good director would've made a better film, no doubt. Not only the tone, but the overall quality -- script, acting, one liners, everything

lets say we get a sequel or reboot, should bullseye return? should someone else take the pplace of kingpin while hes doing time? i would like to see bullseye back, and the secnd disc has costume designs that include a biker type costume close to his classic. the "kingpin" role who could fill that void?

Really, other than Elektra'c backstory, there was not much wrong with the idea's in the film.

What we need is a story similar to the DC but done better. We need someone like Michael Mann to direct this.

I thought some of the one liners were great.

"For your sake, I hope justice is found here today. Or justice will find you"

"That light at the end of the tunnel, guess what? That's not heaven. That's the C-Train!"

"Time to pay the devil his due!"

What's a theatrical period? Like a post war period..? Or something more.. nasty
