I'm curious, can anyone tell me how Fox can screw this up before the movie is filmed?

I mean how can the whole project unravel before they shoot it?

:O Um no, actually.......its just FOX has a this bad habit....
and like, they havent released a good adaption or movie for that atter in awhile
AVPR, X3, DB:E, need i go on?

Agreed. I bet they spend like a buck on making this film and get Uwe Boll in lol.

I wonder why Marvel lets them get away with doing it? Surely it would be in their interests to let the rights revert to them and then make their own Daredevil film.

Marvel can't control much of what 20th Century Fox does with their film properties. In reality, they're more like creative consultants for the studio.

For the love of God, Disney, take the Marvel properties back from Fox by force if you have to! You cant just stand idly by and let them continue to **** things up.
 Preach On Brotha Preach On
Wow, this is no surprise.

I don't care what any of you Fox apologists that never learn have to say, this is typical greedy ass Fox trying to milk it some more. Especially love how the article mentions that there's a good chance it's in response to the whole Disney merger and how they own the rights to the majority of the Marvel verse.

You getting worried about losing the rights Fox so you pump out which is sure to be another half assed film. Worst part is they get the guy who wrote the remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still...this sounds like a winner.

I feel sorry for all you hardcore Daredevil fans that didn't care for the first and actually demand quality in a director, writer and production.
This is what they did with Dragonball.... they were gonna lose the rights so got a 6 year old script written by a hack and decided to dish out a crap movie just to keep the rights.... ****ing greedy ass bastards:argh:

Brilliant move Fox. Hiring the writer of a mediocre sci-fi remake to create the screenplay and Tom Rothman's former boss(Peter Chernin) as the producer. Next I'm sure I'll hear rumors about the possible involvement of Brett Ratner, Zak Penn, or Simon Kinberg. This film has now been officially added to my list of movies I will avoid like the plague unless there's overwhelming evidence that it's worth seeing.

One can only wonder what the hell Fox is thinking in considering Peter Chernin for all of these roles as producer. Demoting a fired president who failed miserably at his job to a position he has zero experience at is a recipe for disaster. It would be like taking an expert sales/marketing representative in my company and sending him to our RnD specialist group to create new assays that the organization depends on to make money and get more clients.

Is Chernin going to end up being the main producer of all Fox big budget films? He is already involved with the planned planet of the apes reboot.

Y'all are being kind saying The Day the Earth Stood Still was mediocre. That movie sucked in a massive way

Let's not forget about Predator 2, Aliens 3, Aliens 4, Fantastic Four, Fantastic Four 2, Speed 2, LXG, AVP1, Elektra, Eragon, X-Files 2, Dragon Ball, and Street Fighter. Were any of these films worth seeing in the theater?

i actually liked the bolded onces, wasnt sure if SF was a fox farce, but yeah it sucked

i never liked the character of daredevil...
however, i actually reaallyyy enjoyed the Daredevil film... why reboot it? :(

they're just gonna go downhill if rebooted.

I'll wait until we actually hear some REAL news before I worry about this reboot (script, director, etc). I'm still not convinced it's going to happen.

im a big fan so i wanted to celebrate by making a poster

Me thinks that Daredevil and Fantastic Four will be the first rights that Disney will attempt to sue to get back considering all Fox is doing is putting on "screenwriters" and "producers" and pretty much nothing else.

Awful idea

everyone knows who should be daredevil and he is currently unavailable

Awful idea? Are you fricking kidding me? Matt Damon looks like Matt Murdock and would've been a better pick for Daredevil than Ben Affleck.

Hmm... I never thought about it but Matt Damon would be a great choice for Daredevil.

Can Disney actually sue even though they didn't get the rights for those characters in the deal since Fox owns them?

they should of got a more drama or crime oriented screen writer like Tony Gilroy

Well disney is currently looking for loopholes in the contract... so I wouldnt be surprised if disney puts a stop to this.

Yo... people, take a chill pill. Fox is full of **** and Rothman is simply filibustering his way through this Disney fiasco to buy him a few extra months. Quick history lesson...

1) Disney buys Marvel, Fox (NEXT DAY) hires hack producer (Avika Goldsmith) for next FF reboot. Here anything since?

2) Disney tightens the grip on Paramount, Fox's answer??? Hire hack producer for DD reboot.

Noticing a pattern here? Fox is buying time. THat's all they can do at this point. This film won't ever get past the script stage. These producers/writers just put a label on it so Fox can answer to Disney reps.

They lost money on DB:E... if that's the kind of business they want, go for it.

Yep, pretty much.

Fox wants to keep the licenses but I'm willing to bet they have no idea what to do with either FF or DD and are just trying to make it look like they have some activity going on.

I hope they have script issues or what not so the movie can go on a long hold and the rights revert back to Marvel-Disney or Disney just buys the rights back from them

But I'm going to see this movie because I love Daredevil hopefully itz good and dark like it should be.
