This has to be close to reverting back, right? That would be one reason for announcing a reboot. Pretty soon, Fox might just go "**** it, just let it go, it's not worth it." Not publicly of course. Right?

Yep, pretty much.

Fox wants to keep the licenses but I'm willing to bet they have no idea what to do with either FF or DD and are just trying to make it look like they have some activity going on.

And now this thread will slowly go back to oblivion for another 6-8 months. MAYBE Fox will provide a follow up early next week to clarify. Don't expect anything after that.

I honestly don't know how Fox still has the rights to Daredevil. It's been over 5 years since Elektra came out. Technically, the rights should have gone back to Marvel last year unless there was some loophole in Fox's contract that allowed them to hold on to the rights a little bit longer once a reboot was announced.

Well the soonest Fox can have this movie up is winter 2011 (REALLY hapassed) or Spring 2012 (normal hapassed). That's seven years from Elecktra's release. If Disney can't find a loophole to where they can at least sue Fox a sizable chunk to prevent them from moving forward, then I'd start worrying. I don't think I'll be wrong, but if they get 7 years, FF won't need to happen until 2014. Fox will pretty much keep it a long, long time.

Fox and Mark Steven Johnson already butchered the Daredevil storyline that was most suitable for a film treatment (the original Frank Miller run) and dealt with some aspects of the origin. Where do you go, story wise, with a reboot? 'Born Again' is a sequel story if ever there was one, you can't jump straight into that. Brian Bendis' work is more suited to a television series than a film. The best option might be to leave out all the major supporting players (except Foggy and Urich) from the previous DAREDEVIL adaption, and create an original story.

I always thought the first film should have focused more on Matt as the protector of Hell's Kitchen anyway. The Elektra story was too big for the first film to do on top of the origin film.

If they reboot they should have the story about DD fighting mobsters and some of his other villains with the main villain being Kingpin. Maybe even do Bullseye. On the Matt Murdoch side they should show more of his office life with Karen and Foggy, and they should focus on his job as an attorney. Elektra and Born Again are stories that are more for turning Matt's world upside down, and we need Matt's world to be established before we jump ahead to those stories.

They better do it ****ing right this time. Though I'm not gonna hold my breath..

Who do you guys want as the main villain(s)?

I was like YAY when I read that they're doing a reboot.

I was like SHEET when I remembered Fox still has the rights.

i just hope they do it right, i liked the first one though

As if the first lame ass movie wasn't enough...If Fox weren't making it I would give it a chance.

The Director's Cut is what made me like the first. Still not a favorite of mine though. But I want them to go all out with this reboot. When I watch the film, I want to be able to say "That's ****ing Daredevil."

But I'm probably just getting my hopes up..

I liked the first one...liked the director's cut even better....always wanted to see more of DD, so anything to get the ball rolling on another movie is pretty good.

This property really lends its self to an hour long drama series on Sci Fi or HBO or something. Keep it really real and dark and make it a mixture of Law and Order and the Sopranos. Gritty, dirty and realistic and centre around Matt's law practice and the problems in Hell's Kitchen.

A movie just isn't long enough to deal with all of Matt's Catholic guilt in one movie :D

I'd like an early Ten-minute fight with say stiltman to reastablish DD. Pure action all the way. Slowly develope the movies real treat. Who I don't care at this point. Owl, Purple Man. Typhoid Mary, even Kingpin if they must. No stupid play ground fights please!

I'd like to see the list of characters DD & say the FF have under contract rights. Disney surely would keep them to only using them.

I think it could work well, visually. Not to mention a great action sequence with DD using his senses to dodge him or swinging up with his baton and eventually finding a way to beat him down.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing Owl though.

^I love her too.

I like your choices eventhough I know they'd never go for Collins because he a pratically unknown T.V actor.
