The Dark Knight Dark Knight Tie-Ins

Not necessarily but you never know. Its unclear whether the anime will be made by the same people who did BTAS, STAS, JL/JLU.

It has to Bruce and Paul Dini doing the the animated show.

That really depends on what style of Anime they decide to go with.

yeah, not all anime styles suck. as i was saying, something like the highlander anime style would be awesome.
even BTAS was a combination of Japanese anime w/ the American Fleischer animation from the '40s...and it totally worked.

Not to mention that Batman games in general have a terrible track record.

I played Return of the Joker on my Gameboy over and over again when I was a kid. That game ruled.

No, it doesn't. Nothing I said depends on what style of anime they use. I said I'm tired of it, that it's over-saturating the market, that I don't like the North American imitation of it, and that it's popularity is crushing traditional western animation. None of those points are at all related to what style of anime they use. "I didn't say "It doesn't work for Batman!" Quite the contrary: true anime definitely works for Batman. But that doesn't change my points. Moreover, there is zero chance they will use true anime. They'll use the crappy North American imitation.

The direct to video anime style cartoon is the best part of the tie-in ideas. I would love to see the best anime artists work on it. Maybe in the style of Yoshiki Takaya who did Guyver: The Bioboosted armor manga. My dream would come true if Batman is voiced by Kevin Conroy. If not then at least Christian Bale, which I'm sure they'll probably do. Maybe in the style of Yoshiki Takaya who did Guyver: The Bioboosted armor manga.

Dunno about this anime version, isn´t The Batman pretty anime-ish already.

they did the same thing for Hugh Jackmans Van Hellsing, and chronicles of Riddick, releasing a Direct to video tie- in animated movie is a reguler happening these days.

Sounds cool! With that being said that it takes place between BB and TDK, does that mean it dispells the rumour that this film takes place right after BB or just that there going to throw in stuff that doesn't really tie into the movie? Cool idea but not so sure about the Anime aspect. Sick and tired of everything being influenced off the japs. You can't go anywhere without seeing Anime anymore!

I don't think Bale will do it, it will be Rino Romano who voiced Batman/Bruce in The Batman.

Cowboy Bebop anime style would be the best way to go, IMO.

Bale will certainly do the voice. He did for the Begins game, after all.

If that's the style of "anime" there talking about, then im ok with that. I just didn't want the anime aspect to be taken too far.

yea don't worry, i doubt it'll be like teen titans...if that's what you're fearing.
btw, that van helsing cover there looks cool. too bad can't say the same for the live-action movie, lol.

I've seen a few anime styles that aren't wisely used that would suit well for a dark-themed Batman. If it was in the same vain as Pokemon or something, then I'd agree. I'm not a fan of that type of drawing animation. But that's not to say anime as a whole is bad though, even if it is oversaturated.

I don't know what to say though. Tough sh1t.

Heres hoping they go to Peter Chung to make the anime. He did Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury, and Animatrix: Matriculated, and most recently did the first three parts of Tomb Raider: Re/Visioned. And he created Aeon Flux. I'd love to see an anime Batman period. But a Bale-style Batman anime series or just a movie would be AWESOME!!! :)

LOL! Yeah, that live action movie was one of the films that let me down the most. It could have been so cool but it was a sloppy pile of **** from Clayface himself.

Nooooooo! While I liked Aeon Flux, mainly what it was about and all. I really can't stand his visual style, his characters are all anorexic and lanky. Thier limbs are like twice the length they should be.

haha yea. what a disappointment! it should've been awesome...what with the classic monsters of frankenstein, werewolf, and vampires. even hugh jackman and kate beckinsale couldn't save that mess of a movie. (i have to admit beckinsale was the best part of the movie though. ;P)

ok...sorry...back to the topic of batman...

That's why I added the clayface line in there lol :cwink:

Peter Chung doing Batman? I'd love to see it, but I can't picture it. He only handles pure sci-fi or fantasy stuff. It would be REALLY out there if he did it.

We'll never see it, but I want Yoshiaki Kawajiri of Ninja Scroll fame to do a Batman anime. That would be incredible. I believe my head would explode upon hearing the confirmation of this.

It would also be cool to see Bruce Timm and the gang lend their style to Nolan's Batverse. That won't happen either, though. I honestly doubt they're fans of Nolan's take on the character.

Yeah mang, thats what i'm talking about!
I wanna see the new highlander anime...kawajiri worked on that one too.

That the fact that you brought that awesome idea up makes me very happy. Only sad thing is your right that he'll never do it. :csad:

What's going on here? Are you even reading my posts? I can't fathom how you could read my post and produce this response. It makes no sense. It's like your having a conversation with my evil duplicate from another dimension, because nothing you just said has anything to do with anything I said.

First, I never said it didn't suit Batman. In fact, I said the exact opposite. I'll bold it for you, since apparently you missed it the first time: "true anime definitely works for Batman."

Second, I never said "anime as a whole is bad." I said three things: that I'm tired of it over-saturating the market, that I don't like the North American imitation of it (which this will likely be), and that it's popularity is hurting traditional western animation. These points having nothing to do with the style of anime chosen, or how awesome it may be.

Since you keep bringing style up, I will explain what will likely happen here: the series will not be anime style. It will most likely be North American anime style, such as that seen in Fantastic Four. This is not anime at all, but rather a cheap imitation produced by North American posers, commissioned by fool executives thinking they can cash in on the popularity of genuine anime.

The alternative, of course, is what was done with The Animatrix: genuine anime artists were hired to produce those animated shorts, rather than western animators trying to imitate anime. The work produced was excellent, and I would be thrilled to see the TDK project done like this. It won't happen, though. Far more likely is that they will use the imitation style, and it will suck.

Of course, I would prefer they use traditional western animation, as opposed to imitation anime or even genuine anime. This has nothing to do with anime being bad (except the imitation, which is bad). It is simply that western animation is dying out: computer animation means the traditional animated films never make it to theaters any more (Don't count on ever seeing anything like Mask of the Phantasm in theaters again), and the popularity of anime and imitation-anime is over-saturating television so completely that there is little room left for western animation.

So yeah, I'm a little annoyed that, yet again, the decision has been made to go with anime.

Can't wait to see the animated designs, hope they don't look too anime.
