http://pota.goatley.com/ This planet of the Apes website is legit. They also have a fanzine in which they track down many of the old actors and comic boo writers for interviews.

it's so strange that every franchise has tons of fan sites, blogs and forums (like Godzilla, Bond, etc) but 'Apes' only has a handful. I guess because it was inactive for two decades till Tim Burton's remake and skip several generation of fans?

I look forward to this but I'm a fan of Rupert Wyatt. I loved RISE and his first film THE ESCAPIST as well. I think Reeves has a good chance of pulling this one off but I'm so disappointed that FOX didn't wanna go with Wyatts vision. He seemed to be looking forward to it on the RISE commentary. But like I said I still look forward to this and hope it delivers on the ground work RISE built.

Yeah, I really liked what Rupert Wyatt did with RISE. I hope the next director doesn't bring back the silly.

Considering his last two films, Reeves isn't really the silly type.

Smit-McPhee is pretty good and its cool to see him work with the director again. So far this cast is shaping up well.

I hope Brian Cox comes back hell bent on revenge against those damn dirty apes.

Exclusive: Gary Oldman Boards Dawn of the Planet of the Apes!

Things are really ramping up for Matt Reeves' upcoming Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. In addition to the returning Andy Serkis, recent reports name Jason Clarke and Kodi Smit-McPhee as two of the sequel's principal cast. Now, ComingSoon.net has learned exclusively that Gary Oldman will be boarding the project as the leader of a human colony!

Set 15 years after the events of Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Dawn finds most of humanity wiped out and the intelligent apes ruling over the world. Part of the film's focus is said to be on a small group of San Francisco-based scientists that are forming a resistance against the apes and part follows Serkis' Caesar as he, like his namesake, tries to maintain order and power within his new civilization.

A name very well known to cinephiles, Oldman recently starred in John Hillcoat's Lawless and reprised his role as Commissioner Gordon in last summer's The Dark Knight Rises. He can be seen later this year in Robert Luketic's Paranoia and early next year in Jose Padilha's RoboCop.

Featuring a screenplay by Mark Bomback, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes starts filming this spring for a May 23, 2014 release. Peter Chernin, Dylan Clarke, Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa are producing.

Oh **** son...

Haven't kept up much and so does Franco's character not appear at all?

I guess he'll just be mentioned as dying cause of the virus

According to him his part was always going to be really small, basically a cameo and even that was only based on his relationship with the director.

Quite frankly, after seeing Franco ripping on the movie and apologizing ahead of time for how bad he thought it was going to be on talk shows immediately before the movie came out, I really didn't care to see him return anyways.

In other news

GARY OLDMAN!

I don't really care to see him return. It's not like Cesar is going to reminisce with him.

Long live Franco. He's a hero..wait, he caused the whole thing huh? Hmm.

If there is a movie past this one they could always keep it open enough to bring him back.

Gary Oldman makes everything better.
