I guess Fox and Sony have some kind of agreement to cross-promote each other's movie together. I wonder if DOFP will have something for TASM as well.

It won't effect the box office at all. If anything, more people will see it. imo.
lol, no. Doesn't work like that. People go see movies if the actors or directors who made them died and it's their last work. Scandals like this that are universally perceived as bad in society do not help movies at the box office, it hurts them if anything. See TDKR after the midnight theatre shooting.

From what I read it was a deal Fox had with Sony because they had a contract with Webb and he needed to go over that to film the next Spider-Man so Sony and Fox made a deal that Fox would get some free X-Men promo during the release of Spider-Man. So this is it. Random but hey any promotion is good.

Actually this is a pretty good exchange. Less stress/scheduling conflicts for both parties and additional promotion for X-Men.

I've seen the footage and you don't have to finish the entire credits to see the footage, its a mid-credits scene and a lot of people will likely catch the footage.

Hmm, makes me wonder if we will see more of this mid credit trailer stuff in future movies.

Just got back from Spider-Man. The scene was so fun. And made me like Spider-Man more lol. And funny thing is the whole theatre stayed. I guess people are just used to sticking around for Marvel movies now. But everyone was like whaaaat? X-Men ooooh lol. Was fun. Felt a bit random but it was a great little clip and cross promo between Fox and Sony.

I dont know if the allegations will affect the box office or not ,
But they are definitely not a benefit.
I hope the allegations are false .

Was there another post credit scene, this time for Spider-Man ?

its likely alot of people will be going to see spider-man so it wouldn't hurt at all

I held off on casting my vote, but I'm making it official now: $700 million (probably more like $650 but I decided to be kind and round up).

That's probably a bit generous, but I'm basing it on:
- the fact that TLS was able to take in $459 million worldwide
- even though The Wolverine and First Class had much smaller box offices, they were positively reviewed, and therefore will have generated momentum for DoFP (much like X2 generated momentum for X3).
- ticket inflation/3D boost/slightly increased worldwide Box Office
- positive feedback on the last two trailers
- Fassbender and JLaw boost, and Wolverine boost

I guess I kinda wish I didn't follow this movie as close as I have, while I believe in innocent until proven guilty, if the allegations are true then who knows what will become of X-Men Apocalypse, but a lawsuit 15 years later is fishy to me. Now I don't know much about box office numbers, but for me I personally go see blockbusters without knowing much about the directors. Summer blockbusters are suppose to be a fun time at the movies and thus who directed the movie does not matter much to me when it comes to blockbusters. I am sure it is the same for many other people. But either way this is still bad publicity for the movie coming out in about a month from now.

I think $500-600M is a fair guess. Basically X3 plus inflation. These have never been BO juggernauts, but I'd sure like to be surprised. It'll open big, then depend on WOM.

It might not affect the box-office.

But I'm worried that critics might be less forgiving to the film when they review it.

I think it's got a lot more than X3 had going for it with much of the same cast in combination with the best of the FC cast and a load of new characters plus the best FX we've had in an X-film. And the international audience has grown massively since 2006.

Idk tbh, I'm terrible at this. I thought thor 2 would make 800 million since it has loki and all so I'll just wait.

I think it could go 600-700million. But you never know. Sometimes movies do better than expected and other times worse. Frozen exceeded a lot of people's box office predictions. And I think because of the past movies people could be doing the same with DoFP.

We just wait I guess. I hope it can do the billion. Fingers crossed.

If The Wolverine can do 400M WW alone then with the xmen it should be at least 600 but then Cap2 with its great critical success has not go there yet so who knows.

Cap 2 already earned 500 million worldwide in 2 weeks and Captain America isn't as big as the X-Men.

If this has good reviews/wom than it can reach 600 million.

Excuse my ignorance but when is it that we can tell the amount Cap has "really" made? also same question for spiderman. :)

You have to wait after the movie is near its box office run to assess its gross domestically and WW. So far TWS has already eclipsed the amount the first movie made, and it's still going strong.
