DC Animated - Superman/Batman: Apocalypse

I hope in the near future of DC Universe Animated Original Movies line up
Batman : Knightfall , Batman : TLH and Batman : Hush gets animated .

I think Bruce Timm mentioned that The Long Halloween would be too complex and long to adapt to one of the movies.

As long as we get The Killing Joke with Conroy and Hamill one of these days I will be happy.

Supergirl looks good
Is that a still from the flick?

I hope they go into how this happens, if I remember correctly in the comic Superman shows up at Apocalypse's and Kara is already evil, with no explanation. (No surprise that Loeb wrote it :argh: )

A mind control device....she was fresh from a 30yr sleep or whatever, wouldnt be to hard to gain control of her mind.

^ Yeah, that's disappointing, but I'm sure Braugher will do a good job.

definitely looking forward to this. yeah its sad that Ironside won't be in it. but we'll see how it turns out. could be pretty good.

here's to hoping we'll see the next story arc from Superman Batman be put into film.

i'm surprised no one has brought up that there is no voice casting for wonder woman. i have a feeling they're going to be eliminating her aspect of the story. wonder how the film is going to fill in 75 minutes without her part of the story, if it has in fact been eliminated.

If WW's in it, she might not be played by a big name like in Crisis.

So seems like that online survey is getting more and more truthier. Here's a comparison.

Green Arrow , taken from Superman/Batman press release:

the third DC Showcase animated short, Green Arrow. Screenwriter Greg Weisman’s story finds Oliver Queen at the Star City International Airport to pick up his girlfriend, only to be forced into action as Green Arrow to protect the 10-year-old Princess of Vlatava from his old nemesis Merlyn the Magnificent and the League of Assassins. The short features the voices of Neal McDonough (Desperate Housewives) and Malcolm McDowell (Entourage). Bruce Timm is executive producer.

Green Arrow, taken from Online Survey thread:

While at the airport to pick up his girlfriend Black Canary, Green Arrow comes head-to-head with some of his greatest enemies who are intent on assassinating a newly arrived young princess from America.

Superman: The Lost City of Krypton: Superman learns of an evil robotic artificial intelligence called Brainiac, who travels the universe, miniaturizing whole alien cities, including their citizens, which he keeps in bottles for study. When Brainiac threatens Earth, Superman has no choice but to hunt him down, only to discover that among the bottled cities in the robot's possession is Kandor from his homeworld of Krypton. Somehow the Man of Steel has to figure out how to defeat this superpowerful A.I., while protecting this last vestige of Kryptonian society. From Geoff Johns' popular comic series. Rated PG-13

Batman: Spawn of the Demon: When eco-terrorist Ra's Al Ghul sets out to destroy most of the world's population, it's up to Batman to stop him. Fortunately the Dark Knight finds an unexpected ally in Ra's daughter Talia, who can no longer tolerate her father's madness. Together Batman and Talia jet to some of the most exotic spots on the planet, battling Deadshot, Lady Shiva, and the League of Assassins, in a desperate race to stop Ra's before it's too late. Rated PG-13

LOBO Lobo, the grungiest, most self-centered interstellar mercenary this side of the Milky Way, has his hands full when he reluctantly accepts the assignment of delivering a baby to the royal family of a distant planet. He can't understand why forces are trying to stop him, until he completes his delivery and discovers that the baby is really an intergalactic assassin intent of destroying the royal king. Rated PG-13.

GOTHAM BY GASLIGHT What if Bruce Wayne had been born in Victorian Times? That's the question posed by "Gotham by Gaslight," which features a turn-of-the-century Batman trying to track down a Jack the Ripper killer on the foggy, cobblestone streets of Gotham City. Rated PG-13.

JONAH HEX The tough-as-nails bounty hunter Jonah Hex always gets his man - until someone else gets to him first - in this case a murderous madam who wants to steal more than just his bounty from Jonah Hex. Based on a story from the award-winning Jonah Hex comic series. Rated PG-13.

SUPERMAN/SHAZAM As Clark Kent interviews street kid Billy Batson, he realizes that the feisty kid has a lot of heart. When Billy is chosen by an ancient wizard to turn into the hero Captain Marvel just by invoking the word, "Shazam!" Rated PG-13.

Also, Big Barda is confirmed by b.t. in the animated feature...

"hey, don't blame it on me! scarlett johansen and ashley tisdale were mentioned here about a dozen times before i piped up -- and also on dc's own message board -- honestly, i have NO idea who actually started the scarlett johansen business, but it sure as heck wasn't me

for the record, just in case my previous hint was too subtle:

SCARLETT JOHANSEN IS NOT -- REPEAT, NOT -- IN SUPERMAN BATMAN: APOCALYPSE.

so -- sorry, "beyond94" -- yes, she woulda made a fine big barda, but it wasn't meant to be, this time at least -- and the actress we DID choose for big barda did an excellent job"

I hope they do 'The Lost City of Krypton' next. It's about time for another solo Superman movie.

I love Barda. I can't wait to find out who's doing her voice.

A mind control device....she was fresh from a 30yr sleep or whatever, wouldnt be to hard to gain control of her mind.

Maybe not, but a competent storyteller would have made up some kind of explanation, instead of having her just arbitrarily switch sides for no reason.

In case you guys wanted ANOTHER reason to be excited for this movie...Tab Murphy is writing it. I glazed over the press release and didn't notice his name until now. Anyway, this is the guy either wrote or co-wrote The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Tarzan, Atlantis: The Lost Empire and Brother Bear. That's an impressive animation resume. He had also written the unproduced Green Arrow: Year One script. So, I've got high hopes for this one!

This year seems like a total winning streak to me. Crisis was easily the strongest DTV effort thus far while Red Hood and Apocalypse look to be continuing that trend. Now if we can just get a Christmas-time release to soften the long wait between the Fall and Spring releases...

And it has been confirmed that WW will be in SB:A. Cant wait to see who plays her, what her look will be like this time around and how big of a role she will have.

Wow The trinity :ybat::super::ww:. I hope Vanessa Marshall return to voice Wonder Woman .

I prefer Keri Russel from their Wonder Woman animated film but Vanessa Marshall would be great as well. :cwink: :woot:

I think it'll be someone new or Susan Eisenberg.

Personally, I want Morena Baccarin to do WW's voice. :yay:
