DC Relaunching Everything? - Part 1

I wish DC would "Brand New Day" the black tee shirt Superboy. Thats NOT Superboy! Superboy is Superman when he was a boy, hanging out in Smallville with his pet dog. Superboy and Superman are the same person, not 2 different people.


And the more I read about this reboot, the more it feels like BND. If that is correct, then I am all for it! Make things simple and give me the "REAL" versions of my heroes. Barbara Gordon should ALWAYS, I REPEAT, ALWAYS BE BATGIRL! When I read that, I did a 360 and felt that DC might go all the way and "fix" the other heroes too!

Ok, Jeff Lamire, what has he done comicwise? (he did some movies yes?) And I would prob. add animal man and aquaman to that list. Demon knight I would look at as I would Wonder Woman.

He's actually done no movies as far as I'm aware. He's mostly done indie stuff, like Essex County and Sweet Tooth. He may not have a lot of mainstream recognition under his belt, but he's shown so good writing talent.

OK, so Barbara Gordon is Batgirl, I am ALL OVER that! But whats this "savage" Hawkman crap?

Hawkman is a space policeman from the planet Thanagan! Not some feral bird creature! I love Hawkman. I have all of his previous series. SO whats this crap? I will prob. check it out, but I wish they would reboot him back to his silver age roots, as I hope Aquaman returns to his silver age roots. Having said that, I loved the deep-blue camouflage costume from the Aquaman mini series of 1986. That was good stuff!

Azzarello wrote Dr. 13 and the Architects of Morality which is pretty out there and crazy. He does gritty, crime stuff most of the time but Azzarello has plenty range.

Its a mantle that Clark gave to Conner. What's so hard to understand? You might as well be shouting because someone else besides Grayson is wearing the Robin costume.

It wont be a reboot for the Batman books at least. There might be a few changes to the continuity but mostly things will just evolve from here. Some event will make Dick become Nightwing again, somehow Babs will walk again and all that.

Brand New Day was the BEST thing to hit Spider-man in decades. I love it!

If this turns out to be DC's BND, I am all for it! I HATED Morrison's Batman and all these confusing people running around claiming to be Batman. Batman should always be Bruce Wayne, NO one else!

Tomorrow at my comic shop is the weekly Nerds and Nachos evening out. Bascially, anywhere from 6 to 20 comic book geeks get together at our LCS, hang out, pick up our weekly stack of comics, then venture forth to a bar for nachos, beer, and the like. It should be a good one what with all the DC stuff to discuss.

Thats very cool. My gathering originated a little over 1 year ago. It started out as a cheer up thing for one of the females in our gang. She had a bad break up, so we took her out for beers to cheer her up. It sort of evolved from there. Now my LCS owner tweets about it and invites everyone to join. When he tweeted about it, he had to come up with a name, hence "nerds and nachos" was born.

my LCS has a lounge they just built into it...on tuesdays they do dungeon and dragons and nachos...its one of the top in the country...we get some big names in their. Mark Waid was in there a few months ago and the artist from Walking Dead will be there this weekend

yep...they also have 7 big screens on the walls that hook into PS3s and Xboxes

they do reviews for Bleeding Cool all the time...he's in the lounge the called the Geek Easy

Anyone know if DC has revealed what devices exactly the day and date digital publishing will exist on? I'm assuming iPad/iPhone/Android, but what I'm more interested is the PSP and/or NGP/PSVita. I was actually pleasantly surprised with the way comics are translated onto it, but was always disappointed the comics were nowhere near recent.

Really don't want to have to get an iPad, but I'm trying to limit my physical pull list in this new relaunch to the things I really want to hold onto. I think day and date digital releases are a great idea.
