DC Relaunching Everything? - Part 1

Wacky thought: With Conner rocking a tattoo on his arm (god only knows how he got it there in the first place), does this mean he's giving up his secret identity or will young Mr. Kent just be wearing long sleeves at all times?

He looks fresh out of the tank so his creators probably put it there.

Also, he looks like he is in Jersey Shore or something. They should have given him the suit he had in YJ when he was a project of Cadmus. I really liked that. But then again they screwed up everything else, so why bother?

Nope. It's as ugly and overly busy as most '90s Image designs, which is unsurprising if Booth designed it. Props for showing his hair again, but that's about it.

It would be a ****ing sweet costume if he didn't have the giant wings. Everything else on it though is

The wings are the only thing I like, actually. The rest of it is awful. Capsule cases and straps and little bits of red padding that don't seem to serve any purpose everywhere. Ugh. Way too busy and muddled, as opposed to the sleek coolness of the normal Red Robin costume (aside from the straps on that, which I've never really liked much).

I think this is the final nail in the coffin for me. This whole relaunch reeks of ********. Which is a shame, because it could've been do so much better. If you want to bring in new readers so badly, reboot EVERYTHING back to year one. Supes lands in smallville, Bruce's parents are murdered, Steve Trevor crashes on Paradise Island. I loved reading Green Lantern: Secret Origin, even though I already knew his origin. I would've loved to have seen the entire DCU Rebooted like that. I would've loved seeing Dick Grayson show up for the first time. Tell new stories. Would he have still become Nightwing? Who knows.

There's a reason why these characters have lasted this long. There is a reason the costumes have lasted this long- so simple & classic. Its design 101. Its very frustrating they are willing to throw out great designs just for a quick buck.

I'm going to use this as an opportunity to finally go back & read the classic runs I've always wanted to read- O'Neil's Batman, Green Lantern & Green Arrow. Maybe Morrisons JLA too.

I just assumed the capsule **** was part of his wings. Like the Hawkman harness.

Oh well. I think it has potential.

I dropped Red Robin and THUNDER Agents today, myself. Figured why bother if they're gonna relaunch everything in September anyway? But I did still pick up Birds of Prey because I was interested in finishing the Questoya guest arc.

I love the Red Robin outfit. Especially the wings. It finally separates that character from the Robin identity for me.


I suppose the hood would have helped as well but then he'd start looking like Earth 2 Hawkman.

Day 1 - Good(If just for Aquaman getting an A-list creative team)
Day 2- Disappointing (I don't care how good the creative teams could be having Daniel relaunch Detective is disappointing)
Day 3-
Day 4-

Tomorrow should some have some amazing reveals. Not to mention this all ends with the supposed Morrison on Superman announcement.

As much as I hate his artwork, the Hawk and Dove cover isn't half bad IMO, at least while compared to that piece of **** TT cover. I'm sure he'll do something to piss me off again eventually, but for now I'm letting him off the hook.
