The Bay example is definitely on the money, but I think another director for Morrision would be Alejandro Jodorowsky. No acid required, just generally bat **** insane and awesome.

I didn't know Millar was so hated, what about The Ultimates? What about Kick-Ass?

If Morrison had written Ultimates, he would have not only made the Black Widow an evil double agent, but he would have made her an alien from an alternate universes future, that was actually a giant spider queen who laid her eggs in Jarvis' sphincter as a comment on corporate influence on 3rd world countries natural resources.

There were one or two parts I liked about Ultimates. But I hate Kick-Ass. Hate it so hard. I'd never wish something other people enjoy out of existence... But yeesh. It's like someone slapped the essence of complete **** right there on the page.

I don't hate him.

I like his stuff. ( I like Michael Bay Movies too. They aren't sophisticated, but they are entertaining.)


Loved Ultimates 1 and 2. (And then Loeb murdered it.) Loved Wanted. Never read Kickass. Loved his run on the Authority. Loved Superman Red Son. He's good. But is he great? No.

I liked The Ultimates because it was so different from the mainstream universe (it doesn't mean i prefer it to the main universe, i just liked how creative he was with it) and Kick-Ass was Ok (the movie was better in my opinion because it was funier and more of what the comic should have been)

I didn't really enjoy the comic, and haven't bothered with the new series, but the film was sensational. I can't tell you how much I love the movie.

Though, I give way more credit to Matthew Vaughn than to Millar.

Get used to it. People here don't read Ultimate Avengers or Superior or Kick-Ass. They just complain about Civil War.

Loved Ultimates 1 and 2. (And then Loeb murdered it.) Loved Wanted. Never read Kickass. Loved his run on the Authority. Loved Superman Red Son. He's good. But is he great? No.

Read Ultimate Avengers. It's Millar's Ultimates 3. Then read Hickman Ultimates.

Millar works in cheap shock value. Morrison works in obscure existential weirdness. They're so not alike that they're pretty much extreme opposites, which is why they're both Scottish.

But even Morrison has shown "cheap shock value" with his über grimdarkness in Morrison's run with face eating criminals to Wayne parents taking Bruce to see Zorro movie because Bruce saw a decapited head and Millar has his obscure weirdness with a Monkey on a space suit giving little children super powers.

Yeah, but here's the thing: Batman sucks. So no one cares.

Also, Millar's "weirdness" is still relatively easy to digest. Sure, nobody likes rapist cannibal Hulk, but you understand it because it's as subtle as a tornado.

This sounds amazing. I really wish that Morrison had written Ultimates right now. I would have loved all of the above to happen in the comic
