I can see it now. Bella comes home from a typical date with edward to find a sensual candlelit room, with soft music playing, and charlie just waiting on the couch in nothing but glitter. She's never noticed how toned and in shape he is for a mature man. He rises to meet her, in more than one way, and before she can say a word, his finger hushes her. The warmth of real human flesh is surprisingly refreshing, so much that she can't help but to become excited.
You do know that Charlie is Bella's father :barf:

Yeah, but didn't we already establish that Incest was relative?

I hope he didn't. know that Charlie was her dad.

Credit for the awesomness of that joke goes out to Mysti, and hippie for bringing it full circle with actual knowledge of the character.

And yet you just know there are probably hundreds of Charlie/Bella fanfics on the net

It wouldn't be the most unhealthy relationship in the Twilight stories you must admit

Animal Man 1. Buy it. Seriously. I wanted a superhero/family drama/ horror comic book, I got one with this. It's unique, creative, haunting, funny, emotional, kick-ass. Wow. What a comic. Action Comics 1 was awesome, but this one takes the cake IMO.

I'll be checking out that series for sure

If its even half as good as the Morrison stories I'm sure I'll dig it

I like Lemire's Animal Man 1 than Morrison's issue 1. It has a more appropriate and accessible tone.

I'll definitely be reading it

Why didn't you like Morrison's Animal Man stories though

I did not say i did not like Grant's stories, I love Grant's Animal Man stories! It's my intro to the character and made me love Buddy and family. But Lemire's work is more focused, more accessible, and more mainstream IMO. In the long run, i think Lemire's animal man will surpass Grant's run on the title. Haven't read the Delano stuff though.

the time line is the only thing so far is annoying me, i know jla and action comics are set 5 years ago but detective comics and batgirl seem set at really different timelines

DC has batman only hunting for the joker for the first time( or at least thats how i took it) but batgirl has the events of the killing joke happen.

suppose it'll take a few issues to get it sorted

Detective starts with a story set in the past, so that explains that.

I think it was an interview with Daniel. That, coupled with Gordon still having color in his hair and the much more antagonistic relationship with the GCPD (sans Gordon) points to it.

the gordon thing is moot, as gordon has the same hair in batgirl, but i see what you mean

The opening dialogue said The Joker has been killing people for six years. Are we to assume the events of issue one take place after the Joker has been around that long (and the narration is at the same time as the story), or does the story take a leap back in time (and only the narration is current)?

Well, I went to the Book Store in town, hoping to pick up Detective Comics, only to discover that they have always been a week behind in their comic shipments. Instead, I picked up Justice League # 1. I enjoyed it, and look forward to next week when the other titles arrive.

'tec does not take place in the past. Daniel said that was a screw up with that story. It takes place in the present.

My shop didn't get in enough Animal Man or Swamp Thing! :cmad:

****!

I don't know if that makes this story better or worse

Much like Daniel's other writing work, this issue was very meh. The only noteworthy thing was the ending, and I'm not really expecting it to be handled all that well.
