:waa:

At least most of the really good titles are still around and doing well

Batwoman, Batgirl and Demon Knights to look forward to this week :) My pull list is full of bad ass lesbians and magical people fighting dragons

This makes me happy :atp:

Not especially surprising. A lot of the New 52 titles reeked of DC just throwing things at the wall to see what stuck.
i read on comics alliance, and i believe this, that some of the titles are getting thrown out there knowing that they're probably going to fail just so DC can maintain the trademark on them.

DC seems to be deciding cancellations by sheer sales numbers, but I really hope they take reviews into account for the third wave. I'll be crushed if I, vampire gets canceled and something like liefeld's titles managed to stick around somehow.

Yeah I'm actually surprised at how quickly DC is switching around creative teams that aren't clicking, and how most of those decisions have made sense.

Aquaman in the top 10?!?

OUTRAGEOUS!!! :awesome:

3 of those books shouldn't even be in the top 100 let alone top 10 but I don't care cause Arthur is finally getting the respect he always deserved from my fellow comic readers :woot:

It's also great that Batman, The Flash, Superman, GL and Aquaman are the faces in the top 10 for the company and not just Bats, GL & Supes. If only Diana could get up there sometime cause lord knows her current book deserves it.

OMAC was fun on a bun this week I am loving all the Jack Kirby goodness. Motherbox! Mokkari! One of the Female Furies with more to come as well as Granny Goodness

I love that the New Gods are back in the DCU. I really was not happy when they all were killed off but now their back and its fab :)

I hope we get some Barda and Mr Miracle soon

My god am I ever going to miss this book :csad:

I'll be crushed if I, vampire gets canceled

Don't even joke about that :cmad:

Yeah, i would like Wonder Woman to deserve some respect for once, maybe if the reception continues positive its sales may improve, maybe it will gain some steam after the TPB is released.

In the light of the new 52, the thing I could understand the less was giving Rob Liefeld a job. OK, it was Hawk and Dove, who cares? And to play devil's advocate, I think he DID improve. I really mean it, I think it is better that the crap hewas usually doing. I would say that I acknowledged of an improvement of his art... but somehow it is still weird and not very good (I think it is bad, not crap anymore, just bad), but then I saw this, direct from DCU blog:
"We recently announced that writer/artist Rob Liefeld will be bringing his distinctive sensibilities to DEATHSTROKE, GRIFTER and THE SAVAGE HAWKMAN in DC COMICS-THE NEW 52".
...
... "distinctive sensibilities"????? WTF???
What is happening now in DC comics is truly, sincerely beyond the reach of my intellectual capacities.

I'm sure she would if not for all of these being relaunches with a lot of Batman titles. Her last relaunch got up there for a couple of issues.

You have to take a look at the people in charge of DC now though. Jim Lee and Bob Harras are in positions of power and are mining the old Image farm for talent like Lee himself, Greg Capullo, David Finch, and Tyler Kirkham. It's no surprise that they recruited Liefeld. And personally, I think that DC is testing to see how well he fits.

Is he a good writer? I don't think I've ever read his written work.

I'm going to be far more cynical. Deathstroke, Hawkman and Grifter are all really low selling titles. They'll see if Liefeld somehow gives them a bump and when he doesn't they can cancel them with out people being too outraged about it.

It always seems to be considered a bad thing when Marvel does it.
Really? Generally, I'm left wanting Marvel to do it more.

I'd certainly prefer it over 4 Avengers titles double shipping every other month.

I think that people would not be outraged if DC cancelled those titles without Liefeld writing them. I think DC has some genuine interest with Liefeld.

I've been reading those books and like them (most to least) in the order you listed them. I'm off once Liefeld takes over, though.

[Kirk in Trek 2]LIEFELD!!!!!!!!!!!![/Kirk in Trek 2] :argh:

It's okay. You shouldn't have enjoyed reading them in the first place. :o

The other 2 books sucked in their current state anyway. Those characters are way too iconic and conceptually rich to be subjected to the garbage Higgins and Daniel have been writing for them. Grifter on the other handhas been getting better with each issue. But yeah I'm also definitely dropping it once Rob starts writing it. His writing is as bad as his art.

there's gonna be a whole lot of jewel kicking come march

To think I actually cut some titles this month to cause I'm back in school full time and gave up my last job. So I'm trade waiting a lot of stuff & saving money and I see more money saved in my future though this time kinda against my will lol. I definitely see my current monthlies list getting shorter cause of DC canning titles within the next few months. Seeing the top 100 reassured me of that :csad: and I'm usually an optimist but yeah I'm also a realist.

I'm just relieved that Liefeld isn't writing any of the comic books I'm buying or care about

Avengers Academy is amazing though

I'm aware. But that's not the point. The point is they've adapted the process of ****ing out tried and true franchises instead of exploring new characters and concepts.

Avengers Academy is actually an example of Marvel actually trying something new, and it should applauded for that. When I say Avengers titles, I more mean Avengers, New Avengers, Avengers Assemble, etc.

that's not really new though, they've been doing that with x-titles since the 70's
