DC Relaunching Everything? - Part 9

I'll pass on Red Robin. I've never went from liking a character for years to completely being irritated by him like I have Tim Drake and this is before the relaunch I'm talking about post-IC here. So it has nothing to do with this sorry version of Drake around now. Keep in mind I did buy the last RR series much to it's own mediocrity but not this time. Better characters deserve my money.

Outside of the awesomeness, I do have some lesser questions in my mind...

Like I wonder who's taking over for a Finch on TDK? I know it was his creation, but with a MOS book coming out, I doubt they'd cancel Batman's counterpart. Fabok would've been perfect if he wasn't already doing Detective. It's a shame Finch did 12 issues that were essentially a total waste due to poor writing.

Who will take over JL for Lee? Tiny Daniel might actually be pretty cool if they are actually smart enough to keep him from writing it too.

Is there any current hints about which series will be canceled next? I really hope they choose the legitimate creative and sales duds like Blue Beetle and Hawkman to cancel over well received books like Frankenstein and I, Vampire...

The rumors say Ivan Reis which explains his leaving Aquaman soon.

I hear johns is leaving aquaman after 16 too

must be true with JLA

I hope his JL looks more like his GL than his Aquaman.

Also, I really hope Johns doesn't leave JL for a while.

Yeah, his stories aren't phenomenal, but at the same time, with Johns writing it, JL is guaranteed to be at the forefront of the DCU rather than shoved to the side in a dark little corner like it was when McDuffie was writing it.

as long as his big status quo changes like superman/WW aren't forced on the captains of the individual series

Hey! Blue Beetle has been getting better and better and is my favorite! That's the one comic I don't want canceled!

Okay, okay. Stormwatch or Catwoman or some other miserable title like that. :o

winick is leaving batwing so that will probly get the axe

maybe that's why they're considering red robin

then liefeld's books will be destroyed and never spoken of again

firestorm

and

batgirl

boom, that was easy

Liefeld has come out and stated that Grifter, Savage Hawkman, and Deathstroke were on the chopping block when he came onto the books and DC was giving him a chance to turn them around.

And based on sales it's obvious that Batwing, Stormwatch, Legion of Super-Heroes, Legion Lost, Demon Knights, I, Vampire, Frankenstein, Blue Beetle, G.I. Combat, and DC Universe Presents are being looked at.

Blue Beetle sucks. It should have never been rebooted to begin with.

people have been saying it gets better but honestly I couldn't get past issue 7

Blue Beetle is what got me into comics in the first place. His role on batman: The Brave and the Bold got me interested in learning about him and I was excited that he had a comic because I could see him more. Then I read it had been cancelled recently. So this new book is a second chance. I don't know whether you hate lesser known characters or are upset over ted's death still but leave Jaime out of it.

I wish Yanick would go back onto a title that I read. I loved his first arc on Batman Incorporated and his Swamp Thing looked fantastic. Sadly, I don't read Swamp Thing anymore and have really been missing his work. I'm not into Wonder Woman either though so no help there. Neither that or Man of Steel interest me. Red Robin might be worth a look at though.

Dude, it's ****ing Grant Morrison. It doesn't matter if you're into the character, he'll MAKE you be into the character.

They'll keep publishing Blue Beetle, then. Just for you. :o

You get me wrong. I love me some Jaime Reyes. The problem I have is that his previous book was soooooooo good and didn't need rebooting at all. He was a fresh character without decades of continuity dragging him down.

The problem with this current Blue Beetle book is that it is vastly inferior to the previous Blue Beetle book. Jaime's previous book was much more fun and better written as well.

I'll admit there have been some differences but they can be good down the road. Have you read issue 12? Totally gives off a feeling of Jaime's last book and he is starting to get along with the scarab.

As long as I can Jim Lee somewhere I'll be happy.

It may have been the best issue of the bunch but doesn't change the fact that it's such a vastly inferior book that featured an unnecessary reboot. Every issue of the previous book was still better than Blue Beetle #12.

it has become a breeding ground for suffering and injustice and must be allowed 2 die
