DC to "Rebirth" in June - Part 2

I'm intrigued by both of these new books. And especially hyped to see Azrael making the big leagues. It is kind of sad though to see Beetle and Booster nowhere to be found within this relaunch.

Nothing of Shazam, either. But I suppose they have to leave some news for SDCC.

When will DC stop being so hardheaded and give me a new Young Justice book with my OGs?

And now it looks like Wally/Donna may out of Titans which is am not happy about.

Justice League Odyssey looks interesting, i like the design of Darkseid.
But didnt he get a redesign already most recently in Wonder Woman?

Justice League Dark with Wonder Woman as leader is a cool idea.

And a new team for Green Arrow? Yeah why not.
I like the current Green Arrow comics, but a change could rise the sales.
Seems like a good idea, changing teams...so when is it time for the Batman comics to get a new team...they dont need to change much, just a new writer who actually knows what he does.:woot:

I think quite the opposite about Darkseid design. I mean yes it's cool and well, but I clicked on the picture because I thought it was Ronan the Accuser. I think the design is far too close to Ronan. And the thing is : Darkseid has enough personnality to avoid being compared to.

Oh, I don't read Wonderwoman : Why is Darkseid part of the good guys again ?

Its hard to redesign a character and find the right direction.
Im more thorn on it when it comes to heroes, with villians i have lesser problems in terms of redesign.
Maybe this redesign looks better or worse from different angles, for now i personally like it.

He isnt a Good guy in Wonder Woman, they fight an he dissapears.
If i remember correctly the wonder woman story was about his ressurection or something.
He was a child at first, then a young man and at the end the Darkseid we know.
I thought he had a different design but i was just thinking about how he looked when he was "younger"...in the end he looks similar to the look we all know...which works.
The Wonder Woman comics currently are weird...but i have my fun. XD

What did everyone think of Metal now that it’s over?

As usual with Snyders Arcs, the story loses its momentum on the finish line.
Metal feels like he wanted to do so much in a way too short time.
The ending is imo overcrowded with all kinds of things and comes off as rushed.

The man has fantastic ideas but he tends to lose his focus down the line and the endings almost never can live up to the beginnings.

Its a good Arc i think, but nothing mindblowing as i and many hoped when this project was announced.

I trade waited on Metal. Are there any important tie-ins I should know of?

I felt the tie ins were the most interesting part. Being a Nightwing fan I loved the Gotham Resistance storyline in Teen Titans 12, Nightwing 29, Suicide Squad 26, and Green Arrow 32. I really liked this storyline and it made me want more GA Nightwing team ups. They worked well and it was good to see GA give Damien grief.

Plus there were some pretty good tie ins to introduce the dark batmen such as Batman: Murder Machine, Batman: Red Death, Batman: The Drowned, Batman: The Merciless, Batman: The Devastator: Batman: Dawnbreaker, and The Batman Who Laughs. I liked these tie ins a good deal.

There were others but these were my personal favorites and I liked them much more than what would be in the trade.

Doomsday Clock #4 was cool and all, but between the slow pace, the extended schedule and the significant lack of DC world stuff... My interest is waning.

The last two issues have left me saying “I’ve waited for this?” Definitely poor pacing. I’m kind of surprised given the minds behind it. It should be better.

This story is like what you get when Geoff Johns is possessed by the ghost of Tom King. And they turn out their most boring work.

:pal::applaud

Yeah the pacing is way off.
The Potential is there but the pacing is not doing it justice.

Anyone read Deathstroke 30? I think the current arc is going to be one of the best modern storylines published by DC.

I find the pacing perfectly fine

Thats okay, different people have different things they like etc.

To me the pacing is simply not as good as the story in my eyes should have to hit new hights.

And as if the Bat-Bride didn’t have enough problems, there’s an all-new villain determined to make trouble for all nine of Selina’s lives. Don’t miss the start of an all-new monthly series written and illustrated by Eisner Award-nominee Joëlle Jones!
On sale JULY 4 • 32 pg, FC, $3.99 US • RATED T+

She looks like Lois Lane. Anyway, I was wondering if some sort of gatcha plot twist was going to happen with Batman 50, like the wedding gets called off or Catwoman dies...but she gets a on-going after issue 50 that confirms she and Bruce do get married. So...this is really happening.

Don't know how I feel about this but i'll read it and see how it goes.

Because King wanted her to be more like Lois Lane in the first place instead of Selina Kyle...or DC wants that.:loco:

This was the expected outcome...well i thought that King might be playing here and throws a big wrench into this all to drasticly shift the whole vibe of his Run.
Something along the lines of: "Haha look at you guys, thought my bad batman fanfiction for so many issues was my best. Nope, was just playing with you.
I now start to actually write the characters good."

But it doesnt seem that way.:woot:
Last i checked the sales of Kings Batman run werent that fantastic so im not sure what DC thinks to archive.
Anyway...seems like i continue to keep the money i would spend on the batman series.
You wouldnt believe how much stuff you can buy when you dont buy the batman issues...and the time i have left now that i dont read it too.:woot:
(Yes im still a bitter and petty ******* and hate Kings run)

I'm with you but his Bat/Cat romance has been the only positive development. Mind you I dont care personally about this ship just speaking generally. His run has taken such a steep nose dive since Jokes and Riddles story that I honestly dont know what to say. I think he doesn't have any real story to tell so he introduced what he knew everyone would see as an important development so obviously he is going to follow up on it because if he doesn't then does he have ? He's been writing filler after filler for a year. Even this big Joker story is just 2 issues. Its only big because Joker.
King is a fantastic writer but looking at his body of work its clear that he has never written an ongoing before Batman. Everything else is a limited series or a one and done. DC made a mistake putting someone without any ongoing experience on their biggest book which ships twice a month. 2 years later he still hasn't found his tone and basic framework. Even the 2 back to back Bane stories feel like they feature 2 completely different versions of Bane, the tonal imbalance and lack of content is frustrating.

So, Benjamin Percy is now on Nightwing and has shared some pages. Art looks great so far.
