Deadpool Deadpool Discussion- SPOILER WARNING!!

And that joke about how Fox can only hire two X-Men was amazingly funny!

That tiny hand moment and Deadpool's fight with Colossus nearly had me crying with laughter, some hilarious moments in this, I also loved DP chasing the guy across the ice in the slow moving vehicle. Loved all the 4th wall breaking moments.

And man, it's been 10 years since Serenity and Morena still looks hot as hell.

Look , I have never read a Deadpool comics or know very well about the character.

I only know the character from his small appearance in "X Men: Origins: Wolverine"

I watched the movie to see what the fuss is all about. I like to watch superhero movies and unfortunately, this one has to be R-rated.

That being said, my biggest problem with this movie is that I find it difficult to like or root for Deadpool.

Usually, the protagonist in a movie is supposed to be likeable, an underdog, someone that you root for in the end.

But I find it very difficult to like Deadpool.

Sure, he has a tragic story about his so called "disfigured" face. But that doesn't give him the rights to brutally kill and murder people.

It doesn't make him better than all those bad guys. I'm sad and disappointed that he has to stoop to their levels to get his revenge.

Even Superman in "Man of Steel" didn't want to kill General Zod but he was forced to.

In the end, when Colossus was trying to tell Deadpool to not kill Ajax, but Deadpool still went ahead and did it. ( resulting in Colossus throwing up)....that moment, I really lost my respect for Deadpool.

And for you guys out there, just because I don't really enjoy this movie, and my review is kind of negative, so I must be trolling?? Wow, you guys are so immature.

What do you expect? Like everybody is supposed to love and enjoy this movie?

It sounds like you are trolling Jed because every single complaint you have had about the film, is exactly what Deadpool is about in the comics now. It is unfortunate that you disliked the film, but nothing you have said will make any fan not want to see it. In fact everything you hate is what will make the film perfect for fans.

We are all just surprised you didn't see a single Red band trailer or read up on the character at all before paying to watch the film.

Nah you definitely seem like you're trolling pretty hard Jed.

My favorite scene was DP vs Colossus. Hahaha

Fav line was this:

Colossus: We're taking you to the professor.
DP: McAvoy or Stewart?

I thought the audience was not dirty enough to catch some of DP's jokes. I caught most of them.

I have 50 bucks on the fact that Jed did not see this movie... Just trolling to be trolling...

Deadpool isn't a hero Jed. In fact... he's not really a very good person. He tries to do the right thing sometimes but it either backfires on him so he gives up. Or he just can't help his psychotic tendencies. That is who Deadpool is.

WTF Jed? Ever read a freaking Deadpool comic? Deadpool is NOT a superhero. He is an anti-hero.

I can honestly say this is by far one of the greatest Marvel films for entertainment value. Ryan Reynolds suits this role down to a tee. I can understand why some people may find this film 'average' and not as funny as there is alot of digs and puns towards other movies, especially X-Men

The humor is completely what you would expect from Deadpool; Dark, Twisted, Sarcastic, Rude etc...

As far as Gore is concerned, yes there is gore but it's nothing over the top in my eyes. Most action scenes are fast paced so you don't really see anything too graphic. There's nothing you would have to turn your head away at.

The nudity is completely justifiable. Yes there is a montage of him and Vanessa having sex throughout the year but you don't really see much nudity. You see Vanessa naked but her hands are covering her breasts. You also see Ryan Reynolds naked the first time he fights Francis but it's not like he stripped down to nothing just for the sheer fun, his gown was on fire and he had just been tortured for 24hours.

There only two things I didn't like about this film is:-

1. CGI on Colossus could have been better.
2. You never really see Deadpool 'heal' his wounds apart from the hand, which is absolutely hilarious. I think you only see him get injured about 2-3 times actually.

Also may I add.

The Professor/X-Men timeline joke was absolutely amazing.

Quite a few caught it in my screening, although some missed it still laughing at the previous moments also, that whole part was hilarious!

No one caught that joke!!! I was the only one laughing.

A few people in my screening caught it. However I got the impression people just laughed for the sake of it.

I got the same impression with the Ripley/Aliens joke also, one of those jokes you would only get if you have seen the film.

Saw it last night, loved every minute ^-^

They definately did Deadpool justice, and I have never laughed out loud so much in a cinema before this. I hope lots of people see it with a good crowd in the cinema, the atmosphere was incredible at the showing I went to last night.

Even better, I went to see it with five other people, non of whom are into comic books (I read DP and showed them the trailer to get them to want to see it), including one person who hates violent films (as in she is legit. shocked by seeing violence and blood onscreen), and everyone loved it! Even the little lady who hates violence was won over by the comedy, she was too busy laughing to be freaked out by the violence, so I'm hoping this bodes well for the movies' appeal to the general public.

I feel like I need a second veiwing to catch all the pop culture references, they were coming so fast I'm sure I must have missed some! I did especially love all the references to Ryan Renolds previous comic book outings (green lantern, wolverine origins and even a blade reference)

Great to see everyone enjoying it,can't wait for next week. Do you think I can bring my GF to see it? :D

When they made "X Men Origins: Wolverine", "The Wolverine".....both were rated PG 13

And both movies did pretty well at the box office.

From what I have heard, Wolverine was pretty violent/graphic in the comics too.

If they can tone down the violence for a Wolverine movie, then why can't they do that for Deadpool too?

Look this movie isn't really for everybody. There is one scene, the road highway scene, where Deadpool use his Katanas to impale a person, turning him into a meat kebab.

Another road highway scene, where Deadpool shoots and fires at three person's head together at the same time, causing blood and brain matter to shoot out from three heads.

I mean, if you find it entertaining to see people brutally, violently killed on screen, then so be it.

But not every people that walk into the cinema to catch this movie have to enjoy the bloodbath splashed across the big screen.

That's it. I'm done discussing this movie.

Hope you hardcore fans have a great, enjoyable time watching it.

There are some parts of the movie that I do enjoy:

Deadpool trying to kick and punch Colossus. Since Colossus is in full metal form, it backfires on Deadpool causing him intense pain everytime he try to hit Colossus, even his groin area.

The blind old lady trying to build a chest/drawer and after completing it, everything falls apart.

Weasel trying to explain to Deadpool the poo emoji, and he used to thought that it was a yogurt or something?? Can't remember already

And that slow motion sequence of Deadpool, Colossus and that mutant girl walking to the finale battle with that song ( it was in the trailer too) playing in the background....

And when you first see Colossus and the mutant girl, Colossus talks in a very funny Russian accent....and he tells the mutant girl that breakfast is very important and he gives her a protein bar?? and makes some jokes about it.

Yeah, these are some of the stuffs that I do like about the movie.

Jed

You can't compare Wolverine to Deadpool. As similar as they are ability wise, their actions are completely different. One is an arrogant hero and the other is a sadistic mercenary.

I think the balance was just right. It was the sarcastic whit, the rude remarks and the dark twisted humor that made it take on a higher age rating.

If they toned it down, it wouldn't have been Deadpool.

Also, I see you mentioned about Deadpool stabbing someone with his swords...

What do you think Wolverine does with his claws? Tickles them to death?

What's the difference between Deadpool stabbing someone to Wolverine stabbing someone?

They just hide it better in the X-Men movies, but it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. If you think about it, the way Wolverine kills people in his movies is no different.

Okay. Thanks for your explaination. :yay:

If she likes crude humour and doesn't mind a bit of violence she will love it!

On the violence side I just instructed her with the likes of Daredevil,Jessica Jones and Penny Dreadful. Can You make an example of crude humour for me?

Deadpool is not as violent as those 3 shows in my eyes, those 3 had worse things in for me.

Crude humour is generally sex and genital jokes and the movie has plenty, but they are funny as hell. To actually tell you some of the jokes would ruin some of the moments in the movie.

Come on, Deadpool is a R rated movie. What are you, 12?

In terms of blood and gore, Deadpool is much less gory than movies like Kickass and Kingsmen. Have you seen that church scene in Kingsmen? That was gruesome.
