Deadpool Deadpool Discussion- SPOILER WARNING!!

What I'd like to know is why Ajax took Vanessa? So Deadpool would come after him? He was doing that anyway.

I'd guess it was to force Wade to come at a time and place of Francis's choosing, also because he's a giant dick.

I really like couple Wade/Vanessa. Ryan and Morena such chemistry.

Liked their storyline in movie. Very romantic and dramatic. I think now this is one of the most beautiful couples in comics movies.

Loved this film. It was a lot better than I expected.

The bad guys were really rubbish but it didn't stop the film being really ace.

Can't wait to see what they do with him next.

I was watching an interview with the writers for DP earlier and they plan in the sequel on Vanessa getting her powers as Copycat and Cable won't be doing a time travel road trip with Wade. They said there will be X-men in the sequel but they aren't for sure who yet. Two big things for them seem to be keeping things on a personal grounded level, e.g. no alien threats, end of the world stuff, while focusing on interrelationships of characters. One other interesting tidbit they said is they would like to keep the Valentine's day weekend opening date for a sequel.

Yeah was a good interview, it makes sense too, and they compared the road that Ironman took to The Avengers of doing two solo movies to establish the characters then launching into the group project (which would be X-Force). Also they mentioned DP could work in PG-13 film as long as it wasnt his own personal film.

They obviously want the sequel to stay grounded and work with most of the same characters as the first. Having Cable turn up and going to the future straight away would probably alienate a lot of what made DP good and be too much too quickly, they need to build it up.

If I remember correctly, did Deadpool ask Negasonic Teenage Warhead when he arrived at the X-Mansion "are you a psychic?" or something?

Finally saw it yesterday ... hilarious! Can't wait to see more of him :woot:

Link to the interview please? :)

I want a proper Juggernaut who can fight Colossus. For those who've seen it,when does the movie take place? After X3-The Wolverine?

Juggernaut is my pick as well, would love to see that fight. X3 and The Wolverine are both in a different timeline now so they are free to do what they want in DP2.

I think the beginning of The Wolverine still is canon with him in Japan during WW2. Obviously he's not wandering the Canadian wilderness anymore after X-3.

Yeah everything before 1973 still happened. So The Wolverine probably still happened in some capacity as the Japanese Soldier Yashida would have still grown up obsessed with Wolverine and mutants. I think we will find out in later movies some events from X1 and X2 happened as well. As Wolverine and Rogue still made it to the mansion, and Jean must have gone Pheonix at some point also.

No problem.

Cyclops and Jean may be interesting choices as well seeing as Cable is their son.

Ya know it bothers me when some folks say Ajax was a weak villain. Really? I mean sure he's no Joker, but I thought he had plenty of screen-time and actually kicked Deadpool's ass twice in one-on-one fight. What else would you want from a villain?

I agree. He was not dull whatsoever. He was actually quite sinister with what he was given to say and work with.

Agreed with both, my first viewing was obviously dominated by DP, but on my 2nd viewing I appreciated Ajax much more, I think he is a better villain than many, including me initially, give him credit for.

Ajax being a weak villain is a valid criticism, because he wasn't really memorable in any way. His scheme was kind of underwhelming, he didn't have any personality, and his powers/fighting skills were generic. Sure, he beat up deadpool a couple of times, but the actual fights between them weren't as good as the highway sequence where he beat up random thugs. As a villain, Ajax is barley serviceable.
