Deadpool Deadpool News and Discussion - Part 1

As far as Copycat, Vanessa wasn't discovered to be a mutant when she first started dating Wilson (pre Weapon X) in the comics. They can always go that route later. Might be a good way to transition into X-Force. In the books she is disguised as Domino the first we meet her.

But not everyone prefers such heavy details. What's the harm in using spoiler code for leaked non-official sources?

The thing is, it's not a twist. It's not a surprise in the movie that she's not a mutant. She just IS a human being. How's that a spoiler? That ain't a spoiler. It spoils the movie as much as knowing that Lois Lane is a human being.

There's an interview with Ed Skrein on the site that must not be named.

Interestingly, he reveals that Ajax is a product of Weapon X like Deadpool and Wolverine, a detail that was not in the original script. In fact, Weapon X didn't appear at all.

I saw this.this detail probally means wolverine defently won't be horseman in apocalypse. They are probally going with as Simon Kinberg once suggested
some things from X-Men trilogy will still happened of close to how they happen with trilogy.bryan singer's apocalypse is culmination of all 6 X-Men films backs this up.

as for deadpool they probally are going with deadpool and Ajax are also part of weapon X at some time just like wolverine was.

I remain skeptical we will see wolverine cameo in Deadpool.

A bit more from Skrein, who is probably there ahead of the rest of Fox's superhero cast, saying how Miller directed the cast and the DP with Blade Runner in mind. So Angel Dust and Ajax are probably gonna be like Replicants? Which I think makes a lot of sense thematically, and is a great soure of inspiration I think.

Why in the world does anyone have a problem with this...other than maybe the coat is in the way :gngl:
I concur. :woot:

Anyway I cannot wait for Deadpool's Comic-con presentation.
Yeah, we should get some interesting stuff!

"We did everything we wanted to and more in this movie and it kind of turned into this beautiful monster. I think every job is going to be a let-down after Deadpool."
It is quotes like this that give me so much faith in this movie. :)

Thats interesting... So Weapon X still exists in Timeline B.

As a fan of the X-Films, the only issue I have with the argument of Vanessa/Copycat as mutant or not...we're talking about series where characters have been, lets say revised, over the course of the X-Films.
I think so many more prominent characters in the grand scheme of the X-Universe and mythos have been featured on film, whether Vanessa is mutant or not, she's just so minuscule, at least to me, its not important, and the franchise, again is known for changing characters to suit the stories being told on film.

For example:
--Deathstryke wasn't a cyborg...she was essentially a Wolverine clone...
--Juggernaut wasn't a mystically endowed human...he was a mutant...
--Callisto was given a grab bag of other characters abilities...that would either show up, or are set to show up in the films...
--Silverfox isn't a mutant with mind control (maybe pheromone? or whatever from Origins)...
--Viper's reptilian qualities...

I could probably list a few more but they're escaping me...

The X-Franchise and related films have a history of altering characters (so does the MCU, so I don't want to be attacked for either, or, okay...) but for the X-Franchise, except for the core/main cast, they meddle with the smaller roles, so I don't get the Vanessa must be a mutant?

Copycat is just an interesting mutant and she's being played by Morena Baccarin... then they'll depower her in the film and just fill the girlfriend role. And I know she'd be Mystique 2.0. But Mutant Vanessa would be so much more interesting.

Any sightings of RR in Deadpool costume on the SDCC-floor yet?

Apparently Blade Runner has been a big influence on the film.

This is wonderful. I can't wait to see the first shots from the movie. Ken Seng is a very talented cinematographer. I was glad he got the job on "Deadpool." He managed to make a found footage movie ("Project X") look great. The stills released looked very promising in that regard.

I like Tim Miller's ambition and taste.

It reveals an absence of a twist (one that could logically appear, unlike one involving Lois Lane). That's still a revelation of plot details that someone might have wanted to figure out themselves during the movie. I just don't see why not put it in spoiler code at least as a courtesy.

Alright, time for Deadpool to kick the **** out of Comic Con!

Hopefully they don't spend too much time on their non Marvel properties.

Well it's Fox, so they've got X-Men, Fantastic Four and Deadpool.

"From the studio that inexpplicably sewed his mouth shut" :funny:

Brianna just said that NTW is a superhero in training and a student of Colossus. So that costume she's wearing is most def what the modern X-Men wear???! And Pyotr is teaching just like at the end of DOFP.

That is HUGE.

They are showing footage. Can't wait to watch this panel, sounds hilarious.

Line from the movie:

"Just please don't make my suit green. Or animated!"
