NTW's X-Men uniform looks great. As does Colossus's X-Men uniform. All they needed to do was add more yellow and more blatant X's to the black leather.

The Official Ballot

The script is pretty brisk.

Ought to please the people who consistently b**** about running time. "Waaaah, 2 hours and 10 minutes!" Gimme a break. :o

EDIT: I just looked at the Revenant page on the same website, and they list a 100 minute runtime, while the movie is actually 156 minutes long. So maybe they made the Deadpool one up, too.
Anyway, a 106 minute runtime wouldn't be a problem. The script was around 110 pages long, so I wouldn't expect a much longer flick.

Yeah a shorter run time for Deadpool wouldn't be an issue with me, the story doesn't have to cover a lot and there are only 3/4 main characters I believe?

Not every movie has to be a 120+ minute epic.

106 minutes is perfectly fine for this sort of movie, I'm not expecting some epic story anyway and that is more than enough time to get Deadpool up and running with plenty of laughs and action thrown in, thats all that is needed. No need to extend it if the material isnt there and just drawn out for drawn outs sake. Some folks will always complain about length, some people wanted a 3 hour Avengers film, some wanted a longer DOFP but it was perfectly fine as it was. Nothing worse than an overly long film that drags and gets boring in parts.

It's not really about property, but about the lenght and scope of the story. As far as I remember, the script was fast paced and compact, without feeling rushed or superficial. There were several instances of slow motion, though, during some of the action scenes, so that could make the actual movie a bit longer. And you have to consider that the script has been altered, so that could change things. Anything from 105 to 120-130 minutes seems about right for the movie.

P.S.: Has anyone read the article in the latest EMPIRE? They describe the development process and which one of the Fox execs was responsible for brining Ryan Reynolds together with both Rett Rheese and Paul Wernick and also director Tim Miller. The writers also say how they were originally planning to leave out the origin altogether, but worked it into the movie, because Reynolds thought the cancer was a very important aspect to the character (and of course he was right). They also describe a scene they were filming when they visited the set, and what I'm most looking forward is how they really are going to juggle the many different aspects of the story. It's going to be both hilarious AND quite dark & grim in places. I don't know how the latest trailer markets the movie, but I think that people are going to be very surprised when they see that it's not just going to be light and comedic in tone.

Under two hours: mass panic!!!! lol

If the movie is only that long, that's how long it is. I'm a bit annoyed about people wanting an extra half hour for Star Wars. Extra run time means squat if you don't know how to use it (eyes Peter Jackson).

Can't really say the same for Fox Italy. Aside from releasing the trailers and spots online, nothing so far. No standees or posters in theaters, no such stuff at events, no TV ads so far.

1hr/46 minutes is a decent length. Just as long as the first X-Men and first Wolverine movie.

A 2 hours length doesn't mean more quality, see Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3.

Wow, sounds like we have a perfect movie then. Great stuff :cwink:

Not surprised about the film's running time. The material doesn't seem to lend itself to a 2 1/2+ hour extravaganza.

I think some people panic about the running time because of Fox's micromanaging days under Tom Rothman.Shorter running time = more showings = more money.:o

I don't think there is any need to worry about that anymore. There are many signs showing that Fox has confidence in this movie.
Fox Belgium is doing a great promo job!

Today on a local event:

To my knowledge, they've had nothing like that here.

I like how Fox is promoting the hell out of the movie and has even struck deals with tie-in partners, despite it being an R-rated $60 million production. Way to go!

Why does deadpool need to be a long flick?

Why does deadpool need to be a long flick?

Because everyone is under the assumption that every superhero movie needs to be some two-hour+ epic. I wish more superhero flicks would take the under two-hours route. It would cut out so much unnecessary story.
