t: Where can I find them?I'm not a fan of the black leather look either, but X-men comic costumes are some of the most ridiculous and poorly designed in all of Marvel, and Marvel knows it - look how often their official costumes change in the comics. Because of this the X-Men (with perhaps the exclusion of Wolverine) do not have the iconic, character defining outfits like Spider-Man or Captain America; they are far more defined by WHO they are and their powers than by what they wear. I am completely fine with the X-men getting less than faithful outfits for the movies (though it'd be nice if hints of comic costumes remained). I would NOT want to see straight adaptations of most of their comic variations. No, it wouldn't. What looks "stupid as hell" is sticking to the lame black leather matrix outfits that deliberately look nothing like the source material when we have so many cinematic superheroes that look like their comic book counterparts. It's been over a decade since the first X-men movies and they still shy away from looking like the comic book X-men. It's pathetic at this point.
The X-men wearing campy and colourful costumes doesn't even make sense in the comics. They're either fighting hate crimes or are at the edge of extinction. Bright blues and yellows (not to mention the unnecessary belts and underwear on the outside that you think wouldn't look stupid) don't match that tone and the movies know it.

I was there and no they didn't. We hoped it would be good, we had optimism but no one had made up their minds definitively before release, aside from those who decided to hate it since it was announced.
He said a lot of things he's apparently forgetting. Lol.You said Doom was gonna end up being better than most MCU villains.

Several things here:
1. It's disingenous to say that the X-men only fight hate crimes or extinction. They also fight aliens and dinosaurs, explore other worlds, travel through time etc.The X-men have a crazy, colorful comic book history and some uniforms that reflect that would be appropriate.
2. Is there some rule that if you're fighting hate crimes or extinction, you can only wear black leather outfits that looked cool 15 years ago? Isn't there a Captain America movie where he's fighting in WW2 in the red white and blues? Hell, isn't there an X-men movie where they fight hate crimes and extinction in yellow and blue outfits? I rest my case.
3. It goes without saying that the suits would need to be modified so pretending that they would look ridiculous on screen when we've pretty much already seen one adaption of them is just flat out dishonest. You're trying to defend the black leather, but apparently that's getting harder and harder to do.
4. I'm willing to bet that the movie in question (Deadpool) will be a runaway hit and show Fox that Marvel fans will reward you for sticking closely to the source material. This could potentially mean more comic-accurate costumes in the future, and when/if we do get them, I guarantee you no one is going to be clamoring for the black leather saying they "made more sense".
It's extremely challenging to cheer for the "straight from the comics" approach of Miller and Reynold's Deadpool after defending the disgrace that was Trank and Kinberg's Fant4stic. It's much easier to pretend it didn't happen.
This film has my two favorite Mutants in it, Colossus and Deadpool, so I can't wait for this film.
Umm, the two viewpoints are not exactly at odds with each other. I know, everything has to be a zero sum game in fandoms, but it is entirely possible to like both approaches.
I believe Deadpool is not actually a mutant?
I mean he gets his powers from an experiment.
These are awesomet: Where can I find them?
you can get the I HAVE ISSUES online but if you are near a FYE that is where I got mine![]()
t: Google will be my friend
Ummmmmmmmm.......a project that clearly adores the underlying source material is not at odds with a film that rejects everything fans love about the franchise? Agree to disagree!
Again, the zero sum game many people play.
People are allowed to like different things. Liking the Deadpool designs does not mean you cannot like the FF designs.
...And in the end, weren't they 100% justified?

Some argue just to argue concerning the non-MCU Marvel franchises. The ASM costume for example was ridiculed but you can bet if the new Spider-Man has a similiar or worse starting costume it wont be.
Best to ignore them as they don't understand that while we may want more comic accuracy and be excited when it happens we don't disown a franchise solely for doing things differently. Great movies are more important than great costumes and the 'defenders' of Fantastic Four were optimistic for a great movie based on the talent involved. The optimism was misplaced in the end but optimism beats pessimism for me any day of the week.
