Deadpool Deadpool News and Discussion - Part 2

I saw the red band trailer the other day and it looked great. I also read since the Fantastic Flop DOA'd at the box office its sequel slot has been given to Deadpool 2. Having Cable in the sequel does seem like the natural choice.

While I want Deadpool to be successful and a summer movie is almost inevitable if it is, I'm not sure it's a good idea. I see the risk of much greater studio interference for a summer film.

If it is successful, I doubt Fox would try to mess up what worked the first time. Besides, even if successful, I don't see Deadpool jumping up to a $200+ million budget. We will be extremely lucky if the first one breaks $500 million.

That's just a rumor.

That's kind of the problem. Whenever a movie is a hit, execs are notorious for pressuring the filmmakers to repeat exactly what they did before in the sequel.

If Fox is really confident with this movie... I suggest that they should start hiring writers to work for the sequel, instead of giving a release date first?

I personally want the sequel to feature X-Force. Its like two movies in one, you got the Deadpool sequel and the introduction to the X-Force team.

Agreed. Wish studios would get ideas and scripts ready for sequels in the event event they can go ahead than announcing to the world a set release date before knowing if it'll definately go ahead

Wouldn't an X-Force likely be PG-13? Can they still pull off the R-rating? Or would you need to tone down the blood and language?

I finally saw the green-band trailer in the big screen!

Colossus looks great however, the jokes didn't get a lot of the audience from the packed audience that I was with.

I wouldn't say that. Deadpool's brand of humor is an acquired taste. Some will get it some won't.

I know that, I was referring to that last sentence psylockosuss tried to throttle in it's sleep.

Kinberg talking about the sequel.
http://collider.com/deadpool-2-cable-story-details-simon-kinberg/
“We certainly are talking about the sequel—we were talking about the sequel while we were making the movie just because when you make a film like this that’s from a serialized source material, you hope that it’s the first of many… But yeah [Fox is] feeling good about it, we’re all feeling really proud of it, so hopefully before it comes out we will be well into the process of figuring out a sequel.”
On Cable showing up...
“It’s certainly come up because he’s such a big character in the world. And it’s a character that I’ve always wanted to do in one form or another, we talked about Cable actually in Days of Future Past at one point. But yeah we’re in such the early stages of sequel talk it would be genuinely premature for me to say whether or not he was gonna be in it.”

As long as the dude stays only as producer, supports the creative team that's been here for years and doesn't force his writing on the project I'm cool with it. Allegedly he had a lot to do with it getting the green light.

I'm just glad he didn't get to use Cable in DOFP. Cable would have been wasted in Bishops place with zero development.

Better to let Rheese, Miller and Reynolds deal with the character in the Deadpool franchise where he will get actual development and then pass on to X-Force where he can lead.

Reynolds interview.

Ryan Reynolds stole his 'Deadpool' costume from the set.

The 38-year-old actor has spent 10 years waiting for the comic book movie to come to fruition so was determined he'd take home a special souvenir when filming ended.

He said: "I loved wearing it and I have run away with one - I'll probably get into trouble for saying that, but I've waited 10 years to do this movie so I'm leaving with a f***ing suit."

Despite his frustration that the movie took so long to make and on a limited budget, Ryan is delighted with what director Tim Miller has achieved.

He said: "Sometimes the long game pays off. I never thought it would come to fruition, it's been an uphill battle but there was such an appetite for that character on screen.

"We did it with a relative pittance compared to most superhero films, but it really allowed us to explore the character. When you see the movie, you would think it's a $150 million film, but actually it's not at all."

Going forward in his career, the 'Mississippi Grind' actor has made a decision to consider "anything."

Apparently Junkie XL is scoring this. I'm a little surprised. With the films he's done recently, I assumed he worked exclusively for WB.

Wow, that's awesome news!:up: Junkie XL is friggin rad. Always when I think it can't get any better, it does.

Deadpool's about to hit 200k followers on twitter. Bout 40k more then Wolverines and should be over Ant-Mans soon. Pretty impressive, especially given the short amount of time the page has been up compared to the others.

X-continuity confusing? So a con the same way it is in the X-films? I can live with that.
