Re: the ass shot, maybe I'm giving them to much credit, but to me that seems like an obvious parody of the lingering ass shots in most action films.

Lookin' pretty cool. I'm liking the butterfly effect of Days of Future Past. FOX's X-Universe seems so much cooler now.

That new Red Band was better than the first, imo.

You can still "appreciate" the material and do something different on film though, just to set it apart. Of course, I can't speak for Bryan Singer. Don't know why Singer made Colossus more human than he is in the comics.

Singer prefers actors over motion capture. Using an actor they did a decent job but fully CGI motion captured leads to a more comic looking portrayal.

Looks cool I guess. The humor still feels very forced and to be honest I don't think it is that funny. Between the crotch shots, the lingering ass shot and the sex jokes, I feel like it's trying way too hard.

I guess that's Deadpool's character, so I hope fans will enjoy it. Just not my cup of tea.

I loved the butt shot as it's seems a send up of always sexualising female heroes so they're doing it for a guy hero for a change

Sounds like Millers an X-23 fan. They need to get this guy on X-Force.

...also look like he confirms that Fox can't use Taskmaster

Eh, that doesn't make it any less irritating.

Given how creative Miller and co. have been with lesser known characters like Angel Dust and NTW, I have a feeling they would have little trouble adapting characters despite the restrictions Fox would provide because they either don't have the rights or are reserved for other X-properties.

I would so be down for Miller doing X-23 though! We'll probably get Cable in a sequel, but X-23 would be an awesome road to go down too (I suppose we'll know if that's a viable option once the next Wolverine comes out too). Miller, Rheese and Wernick are my top choices for X-Force sure! Hell, Ryan might produce too which would be reassuring as well.

You can definitely tell the difference as to who truly appreciates the material and who doesn't.;)

Cudmore just looks like a metal version of Ice Man. :o

And the more CGI version in Deadpool looks more realistic and more practically created than the less CGI version played by Cudmore.

The new Colossus looks like one of the most comic faithful characters on screen (apart from Deadpool of course). He looks like the comic come to life.

Man, this movie seriously has me questioning my ban on all things FOX-Men related. I just may break my vow and spend money on this film, it just looks so damn awesome! This is the role Reynolds was born to play and it seems like they did it right. I think I will hold off until either late Sat or Sun on the weekend it premieres to see if everyone in here likes it as much as I think they will before deciding on breaking my vow.

I will force myself to like this movie

That's what all the FFINO defenders said too. :o

Deadpool and Colossus look great. Although it's a shame Colossus wasn't wearing his classic red and yellow costume with the knee high boots.

Deadpool has a fraction of the budget that DOFP had and yet the CGI on Colossus looks way better. Deadpool's version looks like he's made out of real solid metal, while Singer's version has that T2 liquid metal effect that just looks like dated CGI from the 90's.

Yeah, it's a real shame he isn't dressed like a drag queen. :o

The director owns his own visual effects company (which unless your Peter Jackson or George Lucas) is not a luxury most filmmakers have. That's how he's able to get such impressive looking CG, on such a small budget. Not to mention his background has been primarily in visual effects. This is Tim Miller's forte.

Blur Studio is his company.

Singer did a much better job with Colossus in X2.

But the Deadpool version is the best yet.

This film deserves all the support it can get.

Yup.

Fox ignored the fans with FF and paid the price.

But this is the opposite. It's a total embrace of Deadpool fandom.

All fanboys should support this movie.

Send the right message to Fox and other studios.

Yep, it was Ratner who changed Colossus' look in X3 and Singer stuck with that for DOFP to not mess up the conintuity more.

He does look great in this though.

It's not the costume that makes this Colossus look more like Colossus it's being a big CGi Beefcake

Which is ironic because even this version of Colossus is sporting a black leather X-Men uniform. You know, the one thing people love to whine about. :o

I wonder if we'll ever here the name Piotr Rasputin in this.

Colossus' other features take precedence over his costume, unlike the other characters where the costume denotes most of their aesthetic personality.

Miller on Colossus...

"he’s just so visually impressive and you know, when you’re a comic book reader, the writing’s important, but also you want these incredible looking characters and action and I always loved him from my early days collecting comics......and to do it as sort of a normal-size guy didn't seem to fit the character, and more importantly I think we got a lot of value out of him being larger than life and, you know, this fantastic physical presence"

He gets it.:woot:
