Deadpool Deadpool Spin-off Confirmed - Part 2

My guess is that Cable won't appear until X-Force, Deadpool will take place during the late 1970s and X-Force will take place during the late 1980s. Also, I'd replace Colossus with Wolverine or Beast and change some of the pop culture references to work in the 70s and degrade the level of technology.

Other that that, I'd keep the basic plot and characters as they are.

What's with all this past stuff?

They won't and shouldn't sacrifice Deadpool's modern pop culture references or the script for being stuck in a movie that fully takes place in the past. There's zero reason for it and that will take out the fun. Deadpool ages slow, and can't die. Flashback to the Workshop or Weapon X in the 80s or late 70s and problem solved for connecting it to Apocalypse or whatever First Class Sequel.

Or have Cable pop up at the end credit and bust out a Back To The Future reference. The X-Men and Wolverine still exist in the present. Not everything has to do with the 80s.

Gotcha, netflix is def available enough though and puts out some high quality TV, he's gonna get some awesome treatment. This is set to kick off a pretty big deal, Marvel wouldn't push him as the front runner and take the risk if it wasn't gonna reach an audience. If Daredevil failed then no Defenders, Luke Cage, Iron Fist or Jessica Jones. Lot at stake already. It has to make a big impact.

Well compared to GoTG and Ant-man,he seems like a much lesser risk.It could have been a beginning of a new franchise(Street level heroes-Daredevil,Punisher,Ghost Rider,Luke Cage,Spider-man-if and when Marvel get the rights, could have culminated into a Defenders movie similar to The Avengers but more street level,Ah Dreams)
Though I think its Marvel attempt to expand into different media. Also I get how his lawyer career can be more accurately depicted in a serial format

What is this leaked script everybody keeps talking about? Can I get a link?

Is there an X-force forum somewhere?

My line-up would be
Wolverine
Deadpool
Gambit
Night-crawler
Beast

Should be able to find the script with a search pretty easily.

There's X-Force threads under the spinn off section here. http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=461411 and here http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=461463

Definitely. Elektra, The Hand and Kingpins stories can also be developed more in depth. I see it as nothing but a good thing personally.

I'd have Deadpool drop some references to today and have everyone else be confused when he mentions things that won't exist for decades. He'd even lampshade the lack of cell phones while breaking the fourth wall and wonders when the X-Men movies will finally get caught up to the 90s since he hates not having internet access.

And I'd show Cable after the credits where he can say some cryptic things about how Deadpool needs to search for him in the late 1980s and their destinies are intertwined.

But why ditch what they have in favor of that

Miller and Reynolds should make the film they have been trying to make.

So happy with this news, hope its R-Rated personally and Reynolds can work out a deal to play WW.

I do think a movie based today with flashbacks to the 70/80's showing how he became Deadpool and then if they want they can use him in Apocalypse. A Wolverine cameo is a must as well.

I have only ever read Deadpool when he has been in others characters comics though so I have to ask, does he have an arch-villain.

Excited for this. Just found out that Kevin Feige is producing which gives me even more confidence.:woot: Bring on the Merc With the Mouth, I hope it's R-Rated. I think Reynolds is perfect for the role. As long as the script is tight and the movie is close to the source material (judging from the test footage, it already is), it'll be one of a kind really. It'd be different from what's come before. Hope Fox can pull this off, they have been on a winning streak lately with FC, The Wolverine and DOFP.

Is this true? This really is a surprise if so.

I'd say Ajax and Killbrew are his important major baddies. They are the ones who lead the Workshop which is where he is sent after being a reject post Weapon X. They torture and kill him over and over. That's where he gets the name Deadpool and becomes who he is.

Other major villains are Taskmaster, The Butler, Black Tom Cassidy, Juggernaut, Typhoid Mary, T-Ray, Slayback, Bullseye, Tombstone, Sabertooth and Garrison Kane. Also Thanos casue of Deaths infactuation with Deadpool.

Taskmaster and Deadpool fight quite a bit. Tasky can't mimmick Deadpools moves so there's an interesting relationship/rivalry between the two early on.

Wow, I thought Marvel and Fox hated each other after the whole Quicksilver thing, just goes to show. Yeah I doubt Fiege will have his usual influence on this. But in fairness, with Fox's track record lately I dont mind them being in control.

My thoughts too.

Doesn't Marvel have the rights to Taskmaster?

Would assume so, a few of Deadpools rivals wont be able to show. Taskmaster is the only one I really would want to see here though in the future.

Hopefully Fox can use Bob and with just a drop of the Hydra association. Like they did with Viper. His first appearance was Cable Deadpool and he's only used as a Deadpool character so he should be good.

I still cant believe this has/is actually happening: First Class, Wolverine inmortal, X-Men: Days of future past, Deadpool, X-Men: Apocalypse...

This is crazy, who would have thought 6 years ago?. This universe is getting bigger and bigger and it feels like a second beginning within the same universe, who knows how far they will go :awesome:

Variety says Reynolds isn't signed.

I am still skeptical it actually happens this time. I will believe it happens when it actually happens.

Well its gonna have to go in production soon, so you wont have to wait long to find out.

I think this was the plan 6 years ago as well so its extremely cool to see things finally come into play.

Fox can have a really strong list of flicks. Moving beyond what they have been comfortable with has been something I've wanted to see for awhile. Much more excited about their future slate of films now

I can't wait for this to come out. I hope it's R-rated cause I'd love to hear DP curse some with some nudity (mostly for his commentary on it). One of the best things about the end of DOFP, wolverine origins never ****ing happened. They can go into this completely free of any shackles from past movies.

If Kevin Feige is still producing then thats good news! That would make the relationship of MCU and Fox's X-Men better especially if things worked out well.

There's no way in Hell that they're going to spend that much on this movie. That's the budget that the last Wolverine movie got, and he's THE most recognizable/popular X-Men character. Deadpool by contrast, is more of a niche character (at least to the GA), and it took a positive reception to the test footage to get Fox to greenlight the movie at all.

I think $50 to $70 million should be the budget. Not too expensive and perfect for a February tentpole release. Anyway, if Fox is trying to make films with Kingsman, Agent 47 and those other lesser known comic-books that aren't Marvel based. They should also consider making films with the lesson-known characters from their X-Men library. I just hope those properties would stand out more than just being another X-Men film. Anyway, Deadpool kinda fits with that mold despite already already appearing in a X-Men film before.
