The Dark Knight Rises Deathstroke in Batman III, would it work?

It would be interesting to see them use that villain in BB3 along with a more well known villain like The Riddler or The Penguin.

By the way, who do you think should be cast as Deathstroke???

I'd go with Jon Hamm. He's on the radar and could easily play the badass foil and antithesis to Bale's Batman.

And I like the suggestions of Tom Hardy as Black Mask and Marion Cotillard as Catwoman.

Deathstroke neds to be saved for Titans, IMO. Use Deadshot, here. All the same qualifications w/o being known as titans main rival.

If Deadshot appears first, Deathstroke will seem like a ripoff coming after.

Right now there's no Titans film happening any time soon.

You can just as easily introduce Deathstroke in Batman III, and later bring him into Teen Titans if such a movie is ever developed.

He could be introduced as a masked vigilante Ninja assassin and naturally gifted strategist in B3 (without any genetic enhancements or whatnot)..

And then any possible future Titan film could give him the enhanced superpowers from the comics; as a result of a military project.

I do too. But there are many characters more suited to that role than Deathstroke. Character's people would actually want to see.
Killer Croc comes to mind. Plus, Croc fits into Nolans movies much more easily than Deathstroke (just have him be a guy with a really terrible skin condition). Whereas if they adapted Deathstroke, they'd have to change him so much he wouldn't even really be the character anymore...
So a big croc man is more realistic than a highly trained assassin? (i expect his healing factor to be omitted)

Deathstroke would be a great villain. The muscle working for someone like the Riddler. And this is what the OP was proposing.
How about the adapt Deathstroke to be a surviving League of Shadows ninja?

A vigilante like Batman, but who IS willing to kill.

You know the scene in Begins where Bruce refuses to execute that prisoner? Well when Deathstroke was in that position he went through with it.

You could have him personally trained by Ra's as well. It would create a cool parallel between the two. Deathstroke is what Batman could of become if he didn't refuse to kill the prisoner, and fully embraced the League's ways of dispensing justice.

I wrote a treatment ages ago featuring Riddler as the main villain and Deathstroke as a mysterious figure whose motive is murky.

I think it's about time some spectacular fight scenes were brought to this franchise. Because frankly, the fighting so far has been piss poor IMO.

What would be better than ninja vs ninja, fighting across rain swept Gotham rooftops with thunder and lightning screeching out across the night sky. I can picture it now, it would be epic.
SECONDED :applaud
Exactly why we need a good fighter and not random thugs for batman to beat up.

Who cares about that anyway? Only the connoisseurs know that. Deathstroke is a lot cooler IMHO (not that they are that different).

While I DONT find "assassin" villains to be interesting, Deathstroke could be a cool "entrance villain" for the beginning of Batman 3, since it would make realistic sense for the remaining mob element to hire an assassin to take Batman down... it would only be common sense for them to do that.

It could. He could operate as a freelance bounty hunter, a hired gun, or both depending on if any other villain interacts with him. His motivations are listed in his job description, so I don't think any backstory or even much dialogue is needed for his character.

It's a lot further developed than the Deadpool movie is at the moment. :o

What does Deadpool have to do with any of this?

Apples and Oranges.

There was Titans script and Akiva Goldsmith was tied to it, but it's buried in development hell.

Akiva's been tied to many dead projects too including the big Batman/Superman Wolfgang Peterson film.

The realistic chances of this thing seeing the light of day are very slim; just like Doom Patrol and all the others that never materialized.

Wait a minute... There's a Teen Titans movie coming? Really? Oh....wow...

There was a script by an ex-Smallville writer.

There's a script for pretty much everything DC in the WB Vault.

That doesn't mean it's a project in development.

Deathstroke is a great character to have. If Deadpool wasn't such a similar character and had already been introduced on film, Deathstroke could have been great. But, Nolan will and probably has, seen the comparison of Deathstroke to Deadpool and won't consider it in his universe. Sorry, love the idea though.

Yea but Deadpool and Deathstroke are completely different characters really.

Sure they look sorta similar, but not really.

Deathstroke is a methodical assassin/merc who is deadly serious most of the time and has a code of honour.

Deadpool is the exact opposite of that.

And as for the idea of the mob hiring Deathstroke to take Batman down? Naa. I'd have Deathstroke slaughtering the remainder of the mob, which would get Batman into trouble even more.

Why would Deathstroke be in Gotham? To continue the League of Shadows "cleansing" of Gotham. But also, he could have a hidden agenda, a personal beef with Batman for destroying the League and killing his mentor Ra's.

I think the mob needs to stop dying. This is Gotham, its supposed to have a mob, so will the supervillains and batman stop picking it apart?

If IM2 can use Hammer and Whiplash, so can Batman 3 with Deathstroke and i dunno... the Riddler or whatever.

Well since I am a big proponent of the next Bat film needing to have some type of assassin/hitman or hitwoman hunting Batman, then yeah I think Deathstroke, DeadShot, Lady Shiva or Bane work well in the next film. As I have stated before my ideas would be to use the new cultish mob boss Black Mask/Roman Sionis to hire an assassin to hunt down and kill the Batman, however this assassin has his/her own agenda, since they secretly are a member of the League of Shadows as well, which would not be revealed until toward the end of the film.

Batman needs to have a tough physical challenge in the next film....one who actually hurts and beats him physically in their first encounter, but then in the rematch later toward the end of the film.....Batman beats the snot out him TDKR style!

I'm not fond of this kind of schema. The hero being beaten up and then he trains and wins. They could be even in their first encounter, or have more than two fights being unable to beat the crap out of their opponent. Then in the last one, a very brutal one, bats nearly kills him but stops at the very last moment.

I don't see much point in including a character like Deathstroke because of some supposed awesome fighting scenes with Batman. I mean, if you're looking for visually stunning fight scenes, the Nolanverse movies ain't what you're looking for.
In TDK neither the Joker nor Two-Face were equal fighting opponents for Batman, but in BB Ra's was supposed to be as good as Bruce, and yet, the fight scene at the end (on the train) was anything but a spectacular martial arts battle between ninjas. What makes you think that things will be any different in the next movie?

It wouldn't be bad to have a more... physical villain, but since I doubt that the result will be visually impressive or epic, I'd rather have Killer Croc or Deadshot before Deathstroke.

If they gonna have Deadpool have Deadpool from Batman:Gotham Knight.

I could actually see someone rich and powerful hiring Deathstroke to hunt Batman. Not a major villain however keeping Batman on his toes, preventing him from going after the big fish.
