Dexter - Part 2

It just felt like a bit of a waste to me.

Everything they set up with Travis had the potential to be really good, and I just don't understand why, the minute Dexter confronte Travis about Gellar, he stopped seeing him altogether.

Why did it not continue being a vision like Harry is to Dexter? Why did we not see Travis confused and in turmoil, having ghost Gellar talking him round, saying it was God's plan for him to kill him, as he was supposed to help him from a different plane? Why did he just suddenly become this two dimensional villain?

And with Deb's councilling sessions - it was really interesting having her connect to the fact that her brother meant a lot to her, but she didn't really know him all that well - I thought that would lead to her getting suspicious, maybe wondering why Harry and Dex where always so secretive, maybe questioning some of the major unexplained things that have happened.

It's just so random to have it all lead to 'I'm in love with my brother' instead. And when I say random, I don't mean unpredictable, unique and revolutionary. I mean ridiculous and unneccesary controversial.

And why not give us a bit more about Louis before the end. Some clue as to what his deal is in the finale. Travis saw the hand but that was basically all we got.

All of that dissapointment combined with sloppy plot flaws, a kind of predictable and lacking 'message' in Dexter's usually engagin monologues, and it made for a season I was glad to see end.

Okay rant over. Season over.

I'm just chuffed to bits at the ending anyway.

I hope they don't screw that up next season with some convinient get out claus or an unrealistical reaction.

Inconsistencies/plot holes. A few more to add to the list. The entire police waits outside for Dexter to come in to the house, to the crime scene? COME ONNNN. Stupid way to avoid them watching Dexter's face on the painting.

In all fairness, it isn't all that unlikely. The crime scene needs to be preserved until forensic evidence can be gathered. Dexter is a blood spatter analyst. His evidence is the most vulnerable. One wrong step can mess up a pattern which would be enough for reasonable doubt. It was a high profile case. All eyes were on the police department. They were being careful.

I think what I meant to ask was "how did she know he'd be there?"

Because she (as his boss) ordered him to be there after Harrison's play.

It didn't happen before in the series, at all. In fact, sometimes Masuka tells what he saw as Dexter walks into the scene.
Who called the cops? The cops who entered to check the bodies didn't search the entire house? Just bad writing.

....So Dexter decided to deal with Travis knowing Deb was going to meet him there?

She never implied that she would be there. She asked him to go and do a final forensic sweep alone. She went unannounced to tell him how she felt.

I was hoping the big ending would be Harrison dying...he's added nothing to the show.

A prett lackluster finale, but a well over due final scene; it seemed pretty random that Deb was at the church to begin with.... I know she wanted to tell him about her feelings but....whatever.

Next season has the potential to be a great one, with this new Deb/Dex dynamic and the box that Dex overlooked at his apartment....

Finally Deb find out, they've been dragging this for too long so it's good that we got that out of the way. I don't hate this season but it's been a very weak one, I'd say on-par with the fifth season.

he assumed he would be alone because she told him to do a final check. nothing that would need cops. thats why he felt it was a good location as he was going to be in that area anyway and alone doing a final sweep.

That's actually kind of dumb, going someplace where people would know where he was.

how can you people still not see why they have had deb have those feelings

if you watched this season closely this season was all about debra and i loved it she is such a multi dimensional character now and has been fleshed out alot this season

her having feelings and getting closer emotionally with dexter makes the finale reveal a punch to the gut for her i feel that was the point

to get her very close to dexter then have her find out will crash her world down

Yeah, so she's in love with yet another serial killer i.e ITK!

I wouldn't be surprised if next season starts off with her passing out, waking up hours later at her house (from Dexter carrying her home), and thinking it was all a dream!

I think all those emotions that Deb is feeling towards Dexter aren't real. The shrink just made her think she has them.

Everyone on Dexter's Facebook page is raving about how this was the best season and whatnot, it's funny it's the complete opposite if you come to the hype.

Hellblazzer, stop BS around! How many love interests does Dexter have? He had Rita and Lila in 6 seasons! 2! The fact that he did some biatchez this season and got blown, doesn't make them love interests. And with Deb, how can you even call that a love interest yet?! Also, if you're a former fan, then it's utterly dumb to come here and brag about a show that you don't like and that you're not a fan of anymore and how much u hate it! Then why do you watch it? I don't go around watching Sex And The City and then come in here writting wat a load of **** it is, I saw 3 episodes with my gf totally, I think it's girly BS and so I do not watch it coz I do not like! Jeez! Its simple.

..
you just HAD to use the " if you don't like it, don't watch it " card.

did you NOT read where i clearly stated that i was not going to be watching this show again after season 6??

no. clearly not.

so **** and have fun with watching dexter butt**** his sister passionately in season 7, along with another boring typical villain that the writers give dexter any lame excuse NOT to kill him till the last episode as an attempt at " building tension " , or whatever ******ed ******** they have in mind for this poor show that i once loved.

i'm expressing my opinion. i should be allowed to do that in here .

I hate to ask, but how old are you?

old enough to have an opinion on this show other than " OMG THAT WAS SOOOO AWESOME!!!1111 I WONDURRR WUT HAPPUNZ NEXT " and old enough to be able to express said opinion on a message board ??

.....okay, i'll admit. that statement WAS pretty immature.

but the guy was asking for it. really no need for him to flip out on me for expressing my dislike in a show that he happens to like. (shrugs)

I share your feelings about the season, hellblazer. But you could approach your discontent about it in a different way.

This season started off with a lot of potential. I was actually really enjoying the Travis/Gellar dynamic and Dexter exploring the idea of faith and religion. But then it just all went down hill when Travis found out about Gellar and they made him into just another pointless villain. They should have kept the delusion of Gellar going.

But it's nice that Deb finally caught Dexter in the act. Next season looks to have lots of potential. I think the writers might have realized this season was going to fall short and then started up the Louis and Deb finding out plots. I really hope they do something interesting with Louis. I'd like to see him become more obsessed with Dexter and start trying to follow in his foot steps in some way.

true, true. i'll accept that. lol

i guess due to the fact that i used to be such a huge fan of this show till after this season it just kinda angers me what it's become.

I know, this season was just a waste. I thought it was ridiculous and posted on Facebook how I thought it was utter crap, I got some people really riled up. They actually thought it was the best season so far.

I don't think it was all out terrible. I was bored most of the season, with the exception of Those Kinds of Things and Nebraska. I kind of liked Brother Sam's character, but after he died, it just kind of got boring. The first half of this season was definitely stronger than the last half (these last few episodes were especially meh). Like I said, it wasn't terrible, just kind of weak. It's kind of a reverse of Season 5. With Season 5, the whole season was pretty good, but the ending ruined it for me. Season 6 was very lackluster, with the ending saving the whole season for me. Let's just hope they don't cop out again.

I loved Mos Def's character too so when he died off so early I wondered what they were gonna do the 2nd half of the season. This season just had no payoff at all, things they set up that could've been interesting was written off so quickly.
