Horror Dexter - Part 6

I’m currently rewatching the series and I’m on the season finale of the first season and god it’s no wonder why this series became so popular. Just so freaking good.

That’s great casting she looks like a younger version of Camilla so kudos to them.

Wow I didn’t expect Original Sin to premiere this year so that’s a nice surprise.

A new Dexter sequel series with MCH starring...I guess thirds time is the charm for a good ending??

It would be nice to have at least one good ending for this show.

Yeah I don't care if they retcon that ending, (they pretty much have to, unless they're going supernatural 😅) because I hated how they ended his story.

Or... the show is about his son, and Dexter is his dark passenger... but I think they would've mentioned that. And they would probably title it like "the next generation" or something.

How was that latest series? I haven't seen it. What was it? New Blood?

Yes, New Blood. I think New Blood started off promising, but it fumbled the bag at the end.

That said, I find it funny that between this upcoming Resurrection show, New Blood, and Season 8, we have three alternate endings to the world of Dexter, like a choose your own adventure book.

On season 3 of my rewatch and I always really liked this season even though I know others felt mid about it. The storyline of Dexter and Miguel and the friendship and ultimately how it ended (rightfully so I might add) was kinda tragic and ultimately the series has always been about him searching for connection and it started with his brother and continued on from there. I always saw Dexter also as a twisted Pinocchio story about a non feeling serial killer developing feelings no matter how much he says he doesn’t. Still this rewatch has been fun though.

I’m on episode 1 of season 5 of my rewatch and man Michael C Hall’s performance is so tragic. I know he won a Golden Globe for Dexter but I’ve always thought he should’ve won at least one Emmy for best actor.

Miguel was my favourite antagonist, personally.

I slightly prefer Trinity, but I appreciate that Miguel was not just an antagonist, he was one of the few people that Dexter let "in" on the process. It's still surreal at times watching someone at the kill table besides Dexter, even when it's later characters like Lumen.

I'll give it a watch. I like Dempsey we'll enough. :)

Dempsey is only signed on for one season so given that his character is Harry’s best friend I’m assuming that what happens this season
will be the beginning of the events that will lead to Harry’s suicide and it’ll involve Dexter or the big bad or both that play a part. It could also be that Harry might have to choose between Him or Dexter like Deb choosing Dexter over LaGuerta

Sarah Michelle Gellar listed as a special guest star makes me wonder if she's not in this series for very long and might just have limited screen time.
