Here is how I see things shaping up, Trinity is going to try and start a new cycle with....

Cody as the innocent young Arthur
Deb as the sister
Rita as the mother
Dexter as the father

Astor gets a pass!

I think with everything going on in Dexter's life right now with Arthur will make him tense and then Elliot will be at the wrong place at the wrong time and will saying something to push Dexter over the edge and punch him. But if the Arthur stuff wasn't happening right now, I think Dexter would handle the situation calmly and not be too affected by it like any other person would.

i dont see how Lila compares to Elliot....first off...Rita and dexter broke up. he had not cheated on her at all... then after they broke up he went with lila.

rita cheated on dexter after they were MARRIED AND HAD A BABY!

am i the only one who sees the huge difference?

I'd have to watch the season again because I don't remember the specifics of the situation. Either way, Rita was deeply hurt by Dexter and Lila. The emotional toll is what I was getting at, not necessarily whether it's cheating.

Yea, I remember Deb being pissed coz Dexter was cheating on Rita. Then again he met Lila met coz of his "drug rehab" so. A break and break up are different to chicks. It's like Friends all over again.

Yeah, even taking Lila out, the amount of pain Dexter's caused Rita covering for his murders is pretty high up there. He's a habitual liar with a drug problem, as far as Rita is concerned, but she sticks with him after he makes even the tiniest effort.

They devoted a whole episode in season 1 to Dexters dad. He even did a DNA test on him. It was definetely his dad.

I want to see a character that just kills because thats how they are, because they never had and never will have a soul, just darkness.

You are missing a key component between Dexter & the others. Icy, Trinity, & Miguel all had abusive childhoods. That is the one difference with Dexter. He had parents that raised him lovingly.

Ice truck killed (Brian moser) did not have an abusive childhood... he saw the same things dexter saw which is why he was ****ed up...JUST like dexter...dexter just had guidance, where brian had a orphanage/psychiatric hospital

Some are. Do some research some serial killers are like that just deeply dark demented people with no feelings of remorse. A few come to mind honestly look at Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy, BTK etc None of those killers ever expressed regret for their crimes or even the slightest bit of remorse. There are hundreds of potential serial killer archetypes that could be used to create a very intimidating and brutal antagonist but the point is to make the killer relative to the ovarall theme of the season and thats whats been so beautiful about this season is the contrasts between Dexter and Arthurt

Lila left a message on Dexter's phone saying how she had almost blurted out at dinner that they had spent the night together at a hotel (even though Dex had only just fallen asleep in her lap - obviously Lila set that up). Rita ran out in a frenzy and broke up with Dex. Dexter went to Lila's in a rage and had angry sex with her.

Then when Rita called him back and she asked if they had slept together that night and Dex did that awesome, "No - not that night".

So Dex technically never cheated on her.

Well, like I said, the emotional harm was still done. Plus there's Dex's constant lying and drug addict cover for his serial killing. Rita's been something of a saint in the relationship, really.
