Yeah I guess thats abit of a relief HOWEVER, what if whatever happens on sunday crosses over to the next season. Lets say something happens in Dexters life that has reprocussions for the next season we'll end in a cliffhanger now THAT would suck.:cmad:
Well, granted, the repercussions of this season's scenario will tide over into the next to some degree but I have faith that the writers will tidy up this gem of a season this coming Sunday.

Don't worry, it should be very good. (Wishful thinking)

That's how it's usually gone. Every season has some kind of lasting effect, but the actual arc of the season itself is pretty well contained within that season.

Oh im sure the writers will make sure things are resolved and are coherent and I know it will not only be good, it will be marvelous. The only problem I have is the wait for this episode and the next season, this show it too good.

Yeah I was thinking that and also what if
Arthur survives or Rita and the kids die
that could somehow carry over to the new season as a new plotpoint or something.

The finale title called '' The Getaway'' makes me think that Arthur does survive.

or Dexters hobbies are exposed and he is on the run.

Could be ironic. As in, a botched getaway because Dexter manages to kill Arthur after all.

its been confirmed this season ends with a big cliffhanger.

got a gut feeling that the Bay Harbour butcher case just might be reopened.

Did anyone notice in the preview for next weeks final that the addresss that Athur looked up was Dexters old apartment , the one where Debora is currently staying at now.

I can't wait for Sunday's finale. I just saw the other day's episode and it was great.

perfect timing, im getting direct tv with free showtime tomorrow, so no more watching it a day later online in ****ty quality :awesome:

I would LOVE if this season ends with Dex on the run.

That's how you truelly up the ante for next season!

It really is. If thats how things go then I just be in total awe of the size of the writers cahones. Thats what good, real storytelling is all about. Still it would change the entire feel of the show if Dex is on the run from here on out. Even though this shows main protagonist is a serial killer its still in essence a crime drama and if Dex is on the run it seems to me it would go from that to being a Prison Break-esque chase story. And just to clarify I am in no way comparing this show to Prison Break lol

Everyone who's going crazy over this season comparing it to 1 and 2 need to shut up. Until episode 9 this season was madly inconsistent. The last few episodes put the quality up there with the first two seasons but overall it hasn't been solid from start to finish.

I rate this season right up there with 1 just because of Lithgow and of all the twists and turns theyve taken this season. Ive loved every minute (minus Angel/Laguerta) since its started. From the first scene of Trinity this season in the bathtub I knew we were in for something special and I really dont think Ive been let down once. Now a true let down was season 3 while Jimmy Smits was great as Miguel the story as a whole seemed very unnecessary. I didnt really dig it while it aired and havent bought the boxset because I found it to be sub-par. All season last year I was eagerly awaiting each episode hoping they were gonna get better and was slightly disappointed every week. This year I have literally been on the edge of my seat pretty much the entire time and have truly felt for some of the characters. Plus pretty much every kill of Dexters this year has been great especially the cop-lady.

That's your opinion...and I trust you can appreciate ours that believe this is one of the better seasons.

You're lucky that's how I've been watching Dexter.:csad:
try going on the yidio site sometimes the recordings will be in HD

This season is one of my favs, i loved how they took Anton out early this season. Freakin love Arthur man, i wonder what Deb will do after he finds out the Laura Moser is Dexters mother and the final episode is called The Getaway, oh man that sounds really ****ing good

Dexter' kills for Showtime

Sunday episode is net's most-watched telecast in 10 yrs

A week before its season finale, "Dexter" has already posted ratings highs for Showtime.Sunday's episode of "Dexter" averaged more than 2.1 million viewers at 9 p.m., repping the most-viewed single telecast for Showtime in more than 10 years.
That also made Sunday's seg the most-watched episode of "Dexter," now in its fourth season, ever. Showtime hadn't attracted a larger audience for a single telecast since Oct. 1999, when it ran the Tyson vs. Norris fight.

Always great news to hear that genuinely amazing shows like Dexter are finding success.

yup, especially for a network you have to pay for

This is what i want for a finale:

Dex being framed by Trinity himself with all the Trinity killings.......or at least a copy cat killer..........now that would make a GREAT season finale. Trinity seems to be one step ahead of Dex every step of the way. It would be fitting if his final deed (as i saw Dex putting the needle in his neck in the preview) before Dex gets him, is to have planted enough evidence at Dexter's house to make him look like the killer!

Btw, i have a question; did Trinity's daughter know that her Dads name was Arthur? Cause when Deb told her that they have him, and named the guy Dex had framed, she kinda laughed it off (the daughter) as if she knew they had the wrong person...?

I kind of think the Trinity case is officially closed. It would be dumb for Arthur to try to pin it on Dexter when the police feel like they have their man. Why would he risk having them question their decision?

I think what could happen is that Dexter is caught in the act trying to either take or kill Trinity and has no way to explain who he is without completely incriminating himself.
