well, in the books, deb uses dexters monster as a weapon for catching bad guys. just like she uses his hunches in the series....but like Matt said, its really not that big of a deal in the books...kinda a wasted storyline... the books could be made hundreds of pages longer than they are. Which, each one, is relatively short.

Yeah, Lindsay isn't much of a writer. Good idea man but he struggles fleshing out his ideas. Its like he has two or three great ideas per book and goes all out for them...but then he just can't fill in the blanks in between so he spends what seems like pages repeating himself via character's internal monologue and then finally realizes its time for one of his great ideas so he just jumps the character to that point with little build or logic behind it. Then after his climaxes the falling action is like, 2 pages :(

So is Rita actually dead? Cos he had his flashforward to Harrisons 1st Birthday and I would have expected him to have reacted a bit more. Its almost as if he's just given himself a glimpse of whats to come for his son if he keeps up the charade. Surely she isnt dead. It just seemed to vague especially for what could be a massive plotline.

Very disappointing last episode...infact the last two were disappointing. He just frames a complete stranger and then kills him?? Then the whole department just happen to investigate a missing persons even though they're homicide and they find DNA for the Trinity killer. Then Dexter manages to get to a car garage before a guy who is already there, steal a car part and then follow him until it cuts out...Completely ridiculous. Such a good start to the season and it let its self down by rushing...

Rita was in a pool of blood, WITH HER EYES OPEN, I think we can presume she is in fact dead, damn she was one fine MILF

I thought the last two episodes were excellent. It was awesome. He framed her murderer, somebody he would have killed anywayz. I think Dexter was hiding in the trunk of the car. But I do think that the way Dexter captured Trinity was alittle too quick

They were not investigating a missing person. Batista had a talk with someone about Trinity murders in a certain city. That person said it was the worst time of his life and mentioned a disappeared boy. Then they remembered the missing boy from earlier and put two and two together.

and they find DNA for the Trinity killer.

what are you talking about? They found out he had a connection to "Four Walls" through the kidnapped boy (that Dexter saved).

Michael C. Hall just received a best actor nomination at the Screen Actors Guild

The show was nominated for best drama ensemble!

"You owe me a new Michelin mutha ****a." No one said '****a,' like Doakes. They need to cast him as John Stewart in Green Lantern, damn it! :cmad:
So funny...I said the very same thing in season one. He is John Stewart minus the foul language. :hehe:

I was referring to the trucker...the trucker was a missing person that homicide decided to investigate...thats what im referring to.

yeah she was in that situation but there was the flash forward...it can be miss leading with things like that...but yeah i think i have to accept the fact that the MILF is gone.

i cant wait for next season... its going to be interesting to see how dexter handles being a single father... im not sure hes equipped for it... i bet deb has to step in big time to help out... i want to know how he explains being targeted by trinity... thats going to be the kicker...

Did you pay attention to the show at all? They investigated him because Dexter put Trinity's hairbrush (complete with hair in it, thus DNA samples) in his home and called in a tip.

Don't forget about the toothbrush + shaving razor + hammer + Lundy's files in his truck.

Dex framed him to be their suspect. After following up, they realized it wasn't him.

What happens to attention spans?!

Kids these days. :cmad:

this show is too smart for people. hehehe

Dex's world is pretty much shattered right now, everything he learned and was evolving into got snuffed. I don't wanna see the show go down the path of him trying to be normal. Ugh, lol. Hopefully this puts him back on his game.

I think in many ways, your right. He tried. And really, he was lucky to have a woman like Rita who dealt with alot of his ********. She was a pretty patient woman with him.

I think he's going to be as disconnected, as empty and hallow as we've ever seen him before. I would expect him to basically be reset to Year One all over again, in his outlook on his relationship with other people. The only ray of light for him will be the kids, and even then who knows how he'll react. He could give up custody to Harry for all we know and just be "The Dark Passenger" now more than ever.

And yeah...he'll probably be more on his game, too. No more **** ups, like he's had this season.

If Dex adopted Astor and Kody after they got married, then he'd have parental rights over them as well.

But even so, I can see a storyline being the grandparents babysitting a lot, and noticing Dexter's always gone. They start to worry about their well-being and want the kids to move in with them. Dex fights them for a while, but realizes it would be best for everyone.

I think we'll see the kids, all of them. I think I remember them mentioning that the grandparents live in Tampa. That's not too far away from Miami, so visiting them could be more than possible. I just don't see him keeping the kids at home. Him and Rita had they're hands full with taking care of Astor and Kody, along with the infant Harry. It's just too much for him to do on his own, because of his dark passenger.

And Dexter's conscience (Harry Sr.) has been fighting him on the merits of being a loner.

I think Doakes was better, and very different from Quinn. Whereas I think Doakes was a good cop, he was also a good man. He wasn't really a *****e, he was just on to Dex.

Quinn is infact a *****e. I don't think he's a good cop, either. He's dirty, which Doakes wasn't. The Quinn and Doakes comparison has gotten further apart this season, on purpose I think. Quinn is a dirty cop.

We might see him wrestle with that idea the whole next season. Maybe he'll decide to fight for custody for the kids in court at the end of next season, and then deal with being a single father after that.

I think next season, we're going to get the Dexter we never really got. The loner. Because, Rita has been there with him since the very beginning of the series.

Yep. And then they figured that Trinity was just freakin' smart, too. They figured Trinity had left everything there to throw them off. So, that's something that Arthur will get credit for as well.

I'm sure everything will fall into place, easily and make sense. Dexter's in the clear. Arthur coming to the station and meeting Dexter in person could also serve as proof that Trinity had chosen his next victim.

As long as Dexter avoids the family, alot like how he avoided little chino in season 2...he should be in the clear.

Oh, by the way. If anyone here can listen to podcasts, either through Zune Marketplace or iTunes, they just posted FINALE for the Dexter podcast section.

Very interesting discussion about the ending to the season finale with John Lithgow and Michael C. Hall together. It's worth a look, and Hall is even sporting a new haircut.

I used to think that Doakes would end up with Deb eventually too. I liked how he had a crush on her...

I am really going to miss Julie Benz. I think she was a fine actress and her character got too much criticism.

Same here. I am interested in seeing how Dexter will grieve by himself and in front of people.

I don't want to see a season of mopey Dexter. I would like to see the show jump ahead a few years to see if Harrison is becoming another Dexter or not.

I don't think we're going to see mopey Dexter.

I think we're gonna see pissed off Dexter who goes about killing with a vengeance.

were gonna see a dexter weve only seen once...in his "MIIIIGUEEEEEELLLLL!!!!" Day dream of season 3.

I'm hoping we don't lose all the growth that Dexter has done this season.
