In Arthur's cycle the mother (Rita) was the second victim, the first would have been someone younger and independent to represent his sister, now if he wanted to hurt Dex that would make Deb the obvious kill.

Great opportunity for her, I like the idea of going a different route with the threat this season as I don't see a way of bringing another killer in to rival Lithgow's tour de force performance.

Ah, I thought Ghost was referring to Dex's code so I had no idea what he was talking about.

Anyway, I would've hated Debra being killed off because I definitely see the show headed towards her finding out about Dexter's secret and them dealing with that. My guess is she'll find out by the end of this season sometime.

Also, Trinity had already killed out of cycle on the show with the other Kyle Butler, so him doing the same with Rita doesn't bother me.

Hmm...just a thought...perhaps Stiles' character is a burglar who breaks into Dexter's home and manages to steal evidence of his crimes and blackmails him? It would certainly account for the "unique," relationship.

Also, it would be interesting thematically. Does Dexter keep to the code, now that he has three children who depend on him entirely in light of Rita's death? Does he kill Stiles to protect his children?
