Dexter

I think Quinn will want to be careful about how he handles things once he does find out that Dex is Kyle Butler (if ever) But yea I can totally see him either being understanding and approving of what Dex does cuz lets face it Quinn is no Doakes, not in anyway, Quinn is a tad bit crooked not to bad but a tad and I think he would see what Dex does as something positive. Or he'll tell Dexter that he knows and try to blackmail him. Thats really the only ways I see this playing out right now, Gotta give it a few more eps until we have a fairly decent idea of where this seasons heading.

i was hoping that Kyle Butler will turn out to be the Kyl Butler that the Trinity already killed.

I thought it was a good episode, not great but good, but any "average" episode of Dexter trumps most other stuff on tv anyways. Anyway, i would think that the Mitchell family would be able to provide a much more accurate description of "Kyle Butler" than that. Dexter spent alot of time around them, they should've definitely been able to give a close enough description to i.d. Dexter but hell....its a tv show, i'll work with it. lol

Try describing what someone looks like so someone else can draw it. It's not easy.

I know, i know its just....Dexter's completely exposed himself to the whole family and it feels like he should've been caught or i.d.'ed you know? But yeah i guess at the end of the day it is hard to physically describe someone accurately enough to draw.

I agree with everyone with the episode being average. I was hoping for Astor and Cody to stay with Dexter but I guess it makes sense that they leave with the grandparents. It's nice that Cody really wanted to stay with Dexter but Astor was the one calling the shots. I suppose Harrison is sticking with Dexter. Wouldn't make much sense for him to go with the grandparents (he's not even related to them). As for the other storylines, I really didn't care for them. I think Julia Stiles will start her arc in the next episode.

I hope the writers don't feel that the only way to keep Deb relevant is to have her ****ing a guy on the show.

Huh? Of course Harrison is related to them. They're Rita's parents, and he's Rita and Dexter's son.

I actually thought there would be a custody battle this season. Dexter not being able to take care of the kids along with everything else, and the grandparents take them away (if Dexter didn't adopt them and legally become their dad, they'd have a case against him).

But I'm glad they didn't now.

Are they? I thought they were Rita's. They must have said last season, but I don't remember.

I thought they were Rite's as well, and I was confused because her mom was in season two and played by a different woman. But someone on this forum said they were Paul's folks. Can anyone confirm fo'sho?

I should have realized. They weren't really too broken up over Rita this episode.

thats what I was saying in the previous page. It doesn't make sense that Rita's mom wouldn't show up for the funeral or try to get the kids, or try to get harrison. Considering how much she disliked dexter. plus there's been no mention of her at all since season 2. Its like they're just trying to forget she existed which is annoying.

I can see if they couldn't get the actress back, that'd be a reasonable explanation. but atleast say something like "oh rita's mom had a heartattack when she learned rita was murdered" or something like that. It just seemed really random that they brought in pauls parents out of no where, when there was a grandmother that actually had been in their lives previously.

Well Rita and her mother kinda had a falling out.. I don't remember seeing Paul's parents at his funeral, just Rita and the kids.

Finally watched the new episode,
Anyone else suspicious of the cop Debra was talking to who grew up in that neighborhood where the head was found and suggested it was cut with a machete ?

Not a very good episode, was it? Michael C Hall is kind of boring so far.

No. They are Paul's parents. Rita's mom hasn't been referenced in a while actually. I don't know what happened to her father though. I was thinking there would be a custody battle too but I don't think Dexter would let it get that far. It seems he would rather give them to the grandparents than to go through court (they could always dig some dirt on him too).

Dexter still doesn't really believe he's good for the kids either, so it would make no sense for him to resist the grandparents taking them to the point that they go into a legal battle over it. Astor told Dex right to his face that she didn't want to live with him, and Dexter's not exactly the kind of guy to put his foot down and say, "No, I will be better for the kids than their grandparents. They should stay with me because I am uber-dad!" He has pretty much zero faith in himself as a father. He was probably relieved on some level that Astor and Cody went with the grandparents, even though he clearly came to care for them.

As for the Kyle Butler stuff, I'm glad it's coming back to haunt Dex. He was running around really brazenly, getting involved in every aspect of Arthur's life last season. Having that just fade away with no repercussions would be a serious plot hole.

Not sure why the Mitchells gave different descriptions. Part of it may be that it's hard to describe someone from memory, but I think the kids, at least, might've intentionally obscured Dexter's features in their descriptions. He helped them escape their father's reign of terror, after all. I know they addressed that to some extent last season, but I can't for the life of me remember whether Dexter and the Mitchells parted with some kind of mutual respect or not...

Are the Mitchells even gonna be present this season? I really hope they got those actors to come back.

He was only really working with the son, the mother/daughter were just moreso confused as to what was going down.

That's good. I'm glad they brought at least a representative of the family back. Dex had a huge impact on their lives and we never really got to see the repercussions of his removing Arthur from their family.

They'll either go the route of being thankful...or extremely pissed off that they lost their father. Even though he was a murdering psychopath.
