Lumen could possibly use some kind of insanity defense and get of easy which would make Dexter ok with it. The biggest problem I have with it is that if Lumen gets arrested then her connection to Dexter would be well known and given Dexters interest in Jordan Chase it would be almost impossible for people not to add up 1 and 1.

Lumen will imo either come to her senses and go back to her old live or she will die near the end of the season in order to make things more personal between Jordan and Dexter.

Perhaps after Dexter dispatches of all the bad guys Lumen leaves him and his life to repair her own - thus giving Dexter hope that he can leave his monster behind for the next season.

1. The Nanny is a part of Chases cult.

2. Chase will be put on the table. But he will tell Dexter to call the nanny first. Where the nanny informs Dexter that she is holding Harrison hostage.

I don't think it was a part of Chases plan. I just think that the Nanny happens to be a member of Chases crew.

Evidently you can see the nanny at the seminar that Dexter attends when hunting Cole. I can't go back & watch it since I cancelled my showtime. But if that is the case. Then the nanny is at least a card carrying member.

Edit: I will say that if there is something sinister going on with the nanny. Then the fact that she left & had to be begged to come back will be a bit of a glaring plot hole.

However I find it all to far coincidental if they did that. Sometimes things just happen for the sake of happening and don't need to be connect.

I have a different theory - which aligns with the books, chase is part of a molloch worshipping cult, and the earlier murders were enforces or something of that cult, and then it all comes to roost with the dark passenger and something between dexter and lumen and their dark passengers, like they loose their dark passengers, or their dark passengers hide, or something. The nanny? A guardian angel. The only plot point hanging out then, would be the investigation of dexter, but maybe that just serves as a catalyst or bringing Debroah into the inner circle of who-knows-his-secret.

I can't go back & rewatch it. I just heard that you could see her in the crowd from a friend.

As far as it being all men in the picture. I am assuming that picture was taken in the 80's late 70's. That is a time with men & woman at a certain age could look similar due to the hair styles of that era.

& given the fact that most assume rightfully that adult white men are almost always serial killers. Lumen & Dexter just assumed that they were all male.

This is just a theory folks. Cause if she was just a nanny they wouldn't have put so much focus on her. She would have been more in the background.
