So Im guessing that the 7 snakes that slithered out of the corpes represents future murders? probably of people who sinned? wouldnt be suprised if one of the victims ends up been Angle's sister or even Quinn
Wow, you never watched Se7en, have you? Being that this season is chock full of religious scenery, I suggest that the seven snakes represent seven deadly sins, the fruit guy was likely targeted because he had committed one of those sins perhaps. It was my first thought when those snakes slithered out. :)

the preview for the rest of the season....looked ****ing insane

Great episode. Had its humor. "It's hammer time". The preview for the season looks extremely promising. The tone is much darker.

Already looks better than last season, by far.

I love that they're doing a religious aspect.

Me, too. I am curious to see how far they go with it, if Dexter might convert or at least see some worth in the work that he does. God using him to take out the trash. :p

from the passage they quoted it's probably more of a book of revelations type thing. Seven sins aren't in the Bible.

Wouldn't be surprise if they went the route of Dexter questioning whether what these two new antagonists are doing is right within their own beliefs. Dexter kills who he believe is guilty but these two might be different within their own context.

Maybe they are trying to bring about the Apocolypse or something?

:hehe:

Someone on the imdb message boards speculated that Olmo's character might be something similar to Harry Morgans character, that he doesnt really exist but is a projection of himself there to mentor/guide him. Very intriguing and so far could be true as he just sits there and doesnt do anything.

If that turns out to be the case though, I'm pissed I read it. It could be a very neat twist.

is there a link on youtube for the season sneak peek that was showed after the premiere?

Seems I was the only one who disliked all the reunion aspects of this episode:csad:

I'll stand by my opinion that the football game was the single worst use of Harry in the show's history.

I do like the slightly darker tone though. And it has potential. Still feel their hitting the big old reset button on the character of Dexter though is frustrating.

I agree with you about using Harry during the football game. Dexter's narration made it seem like he knows nothing about football, yet Harry filled him in on it. Harry has always been a reflection of Dexter's thoughts, rather than a ghost. Yet he was portrayed as an independently thinking ghost last night. That is my one complaint with the otherwise fantastic episode.

I would be happy with it myself, even if it is a bit redundant. :) Makes this new killer more interesting.

Maybe his subconscious remembered the definitions from earlier in the episode to put forth a more useful idea. Notice that he really doesn't get told much more than the offensive line stays close to the qb.

great season premiere i thought, though a bit slower paced compared to past premieres

the "Hammer Time" scene at the reunion was pretty funny. Olmos & Hanks are pretty interesting characters already. looking forward to seeing them more and know their motives for the killings.

I wish they'd put Dexter on iTunes. I need to watch this now!

Good season premiere. The dark humor, as always, was great.

"Hammer Time". That's the phrase of the episode. Dexter getting on the dancefloor was funny, and that's an interesting theory about Hanks and Olmos' characters. I kinda hope that prediction winds up being true.

I really hope that theory isn't true. I want to see Olmos and Dexter face to face like Lithgow and Dexter were

I'd actually like to see Dexter and Hanks face eachother...

...and a ghost fight between Harry and Olmos.

Really good start for the season and didnt Hanks play a priest in Mad Men lol.
