$20 million is nothing to sneeze at but Showtime has the money if it can loosen its grip a bit and offer more.

They would be stupid to let things go so far that they lose this show for good. :(

I apologize if it's been discussed already, but who covers Personal Jesus at the season 5 trailer?

I believe it's Marilyn Manson.

No worries. This is typical posturing when it comes to negotiations of this kind. Dexter is Showtime's cashcow seeing that their other programming is kinda iffy at best IMO. They don't even procure the best films out of the lot unless you're a Twilight fan of course...they show those flicks like 8 times a day it seems... :whatever:
I'm sure that both parties will come to an amicable conclusion and not wreck this show.

very good episode

next season has to be dexter on run with deb being LT and dexter even saying the line "you may be leading my capture

Another great episode, very excited to see where this season heads. Finally, they do something with Deb that's not strictly dealing with her romantic life. How the dynamics play out should be fun.

Mos Def in Dexter and awesome episode but im wondering if there going to go deeper into Deb not seeing every thing so black and white. Last season when she let Dexter and Luman get away.

Since they showed Deb not being black and white about everything when dealing with the law at the end of S5 it makes it highly possible(maybe expected) that she'll turn the other way when she finds out about Dexter. Also we've seen that she values Dexter(family) above almost everything which would lean in that direction even more.

Is it bad that I hope she doesn't? Having his last adult tether to humanity try to hunt him down would be a great story for Dexter to work through. Think of season 2, but EXTREMER! :o

I think seeing Dexter on the run is something that might have to happen it just seems like it would be the natural next step but he has a son. Im thinking Harrison might be the thing that gets rid of his dark passenger.

Dexter on the run when his secret is out is something I'm not expecting at all since its such a huge shift from the dynamic of the show(unless its for only a couple of episodes). However, I wouldn't mind seeing something like that if done right.

Also, Dexter losing his dark passenger and living a normal life would not work for me. It's like House learning to deal with his pain, then settling down with a family and such when the show ends. The writers need to do a lot to convince me that its natural.

Ditched those other two kids pretty successfully. Plus I imagine worse comes to worse he could give the boy up to an orphanage or something--even more drama.

But this would be like last season/finale type stuff. I certainly don't want it to happen before it's appropriate (hint, hint, showtime)

If any thing does do it I think it will be his son but I dont see Dexter going on the run either I would hate it. Its just something that I have actually seen quite a bit of people say on forums and what not. But I have faith that when Dex does come to an end it will be good.

But I hope Micheal C hall stays on for Dexter because he wants to and not just for the money because
the character is great.

See, I could, but only because he's dipped his toes into the water before. And again, it would have to be like a series finale type thing. If he met somebody else, kind of rebuilt his life, had a cathartic/suitably earth-shaking event that freed him of that dark passenger, then yeah, he could very definitely go that direction at the end of the show.

The difference is House is now just this overgrown toddler running around so the writers can keep him in a comfortable zone of being a complete ass and recycle the same type of humor from episode to episode. Dexter is actually trying to progress and become more normal (well, passing for normal, anyway). Hell, that's the only reason he spared Trinity as long as he did was so that he could be more of a family man while maintaining his lifestyle.

This is one of those have your cake and eat it to deals it seems like family or killing is something he might have to choose. Theres no way he could keep killing on the side when Harrison becomes a teen.

Just saw the new episode.

"I don't know, Quinn makes me happy..."
-"Really? 'Cause there's a vein in your forehead."
Any time Dexter is forced to be involved in the intracacies of relationship drama, comedy is to be had.

Also enjoy that Debra is moving beyond the shadow of her father, and Quinn for that matter. I can't see him staying on in this kind of working environment, but who knows. Her taking Lt. is the next logical step in her arc, and all the uncertainty that that's going to bring.

Speaking of Quinn--if he's not Debra's lover, what's his relevance to the show now? I'd rather not re-hash his suspicion of Dexter, which got cut off out of respect for his relationship with Deb. Maybe he'll be a victim of Olmos and co.

I love that they are maintaining an ambiguity about Olmos' nature. I thought for sure he'd show up at that last ambush. With the introduction of his baby sister they might very well giving us another "Dexter" as a villain.

Dexter's dad seems a lot better characterized in this episode, more contemplative and cautious rather than fist-pumping. So points for that.

Batista is interesting. At this point, he's a bit of a wild card. He's pissed at Laguerta in particular and his life in general, and he's been in brawls before. Can't wait to see what happens with that.

We better see more of Masuka's new intern...preferably without clothes. :o

if there is one thing the show and books has emphasized is that dexter can not and will not lose the dark passenger. he is the dark passenger, its not like hes schizophrenic or possessed.

Just say no to women's asses. :p I'd rather see Dexter's.
