I duno, I'd rather see Lex as more of a tyrannical terrorist that he was in SR than the business man (which the DCAU already did)...
This was a brand new Luthor for me. He had the instability and humor of the precrisis....but definately the repressed evil and sadistic nature of the post.
He definately let go of his restraints in the confrontation with Supes.
The flaw was you never got to see the technology in action, and a small sea plane was able to fly onto the "island".
Give me the tyrannical business version any day.
We didn't see what Lex learned from the fortress of solitude other than the continent building crystals. He might've known how to make a hyper death beam once the crystal fortress was complete. Those crystals seemed like they functioned as the buttons on a remote control to the FOS. Lex used the "build" crystal, and he heavily implied that he knew how to do other stuff with them. He just let his desire to kill Superman sidetrack him.
