Days of Future Past "Director's Cut": The Official Matthew Vaughn Thread

well i guess the astral plane is ruined for x-men franchise now. thanks alot ****ing inception. wasnt even that good a movie.
I'm sorry. How is this Inception's fault? Why not Vaughn's? He's the one who felt the need to cut the scene altogether, instead of trying to find ways to differentiate it from Inception's hallway fight.

Maybe Disney told him to go another route while they look in to suing Nolan. :cwink:

After all, Christopher Nolan seems to have stolen the idea for Inception from a Scrooge McDuck comic.

"When you fall in a dream you always wake up!" :woot:

I'm sorry but I found this to be extremely funny given the fact that a strange new Nolanite religion seems to have popped up in certain circles in response to Inception. To find that Scrooge McDuck is the inspiration for the work cracks me up.

Except that Nolan started writing Inception 10 years ago and first pitched it to WB in 2001/2002. Want to try again? I can sense some Nolan jealousy here.

You can say that again.

Yeah, and plus Vaughn probably exaggerated and said it in a joking manner.

And I sense you have no sense of humor whatsoever.

I'm sorry, but you couldn't be more wrong my friend. It can be difficult to judge a person's attitude just from words on a computer screen. I really would not put it past some posters here to make a post like your own with serious intentions.

And I sense your sense of sensing another person's sense of humor are off.

So is this movie a reboot/prequel/sidequel? If they make Wolverine 2, then it's separate from this universe?

Vaughn confirmed it's a prequel.

I would hope Wolverine 2 would have no connection to this movie seeing as it's about Wolverine's Japan storyline.

Vaughn confirmed it is a prequel, doesn't confirm or deny Jean/Scott

Very interesting. Might be some hope for Scott and Jean after all. Doesn't look too promising for Storm as there has been about as much mention of her as Wolverine...which has been zero. Ah well. :csad:

And I see you derailing this thread with Nolan nonsense. Stay on topic, please.

I love it when you do that. You have this sophisticated way of snapping necks back without actually breaking anything. Me? Pssshhh. :hehe:

Vaughn can suck it. Who comes out and says, "Yeah we were going to do that... but...." Really??? For a movie that just came out? Guess a completely original picture that we get once in a blue moon if we are lucky gives every other film maker a pass for not being as original as they could have been.

What? How does that give him a pass? He's been forces to make the scene better than it was originally. Inception made him UP his game.

Um really? Have you seen this scene already? Way to give someone the benefit of the doubt.

O_o

He can suck what exactly? For all you know, this Inception film may have made him push his creative boundaries further, giving us a product that may actually be superior. I'd rather him make this move now and up his game than have a situation resembling 2005's Incredibles vs. Fox's Fantastic Four (with the latter scrambling at the last minute to find some extra wow factors--which still failed).

We shouldn't bash that which we haven't seen yet.

Have you?

I am not saying the scene is going to suck now or be better either way. I am saying Vaughn shouldn't use it as a crutch and say, yeah we would have have been just as ground breaking if not for... Someone beats you to the punch, move on... stop whining and making things public. From his, "I would have made X-3 so much better," to another pointless argument that puts a bigger target on your back, actions speak louder than words as we all know. Vaughn needs to step off his high horse and stop acting like he has accomplished or earned something more than he has.

He's not whining. You are. In fact, that's all you've been doing about anything related to this movie.

What he is saying is no different than how he and Singer claiming this will be along the lines of the Star Trek reboot last year. They're using an example of a movie that was successful and popular and to boost interest in their own film. I think they're paying both of those movies a compliment, not as blame for the shortcomings of their own film, which we keep reminding you, we have not yet seen. :cwink:

Why you mad, though?

I'm not mad bro... but comments like throwing 12 pages of script just makes you  ... 12 pages of spinning rooms and anti gravity? Don't stretch the facts Matt and act like it was going to be a major cog in the story.
