It's such BS. I'm also seeing claims that things might have been different if she chose Josh Shapiro as her VP, which is very doubtful.

I think the theory, without much proof, is that Shapiro would've been able to potentially deliver Pennsylvania.

Though ironically, this puts Shapiro in a position to run in 2028 because you know that he, Gretchen Whitmer, and maybe even Gavin Newsom all want to be President.

I expect something simlar where i work, our company owner and a few employees are huge Trump supporters and all i have heard since i hired on here is how great Trump is for business, unfortunatly they dont think tariffs will affect us, we are a tiny manufacturing company that makes water flow and depth measurement equipment, we use alot of steel and what not, while the owner is very anti-china alot of our outsourced items come from China, i will be honest, i dont see us surviving, we already have 9 people here and we have tough time now getting orders as we cater to environmental companies, especially the USGS, US dept of the interior, we used to have the EPA as a customer but Trump gutted them in his last go around and we never heard from them afterward, i spoke with a guy at an EPA office in 2017 and he said he doubted we would see any more orders from them and we havent, and i expect many of the places that buy from us will have their budgets slashed or eliminated completely.

The best thing parents can do is get their kids the **** off the internet and into some kind of real social life.

The second best thing is that liberals have to go into and copy the conservative internet ecosystem but from a different perspective if many parents won't do the best thing for their children.

In too many ways as I've said before, the internet is more their teacher than their parents (or absent father) actually are.

My empathy level, which was already low enough that I was at times cheering on the global warming fueled floods, hurricanes and tornadoes that recently ravaged Trump America, has slipped even lower. I vote largely out of empathy for others and then obsess over awfulness in both America and abroad. But I am finding that’s not healthy.

Abortion rights don’t impact me directly, so why should I muster any concern over women dying from ectopic pregnancies when white women apparently can’t do the same? The situation in Gaza is horrific, but many muslims and the far left believe that the guy whose first official act in office was a Muslim ban is better equipped to deal with it. If they actually believe that, or don’t understand basic civics, then who am I to judge? My nuanced take on transsexual partition in female athletics was considered extreme on these boards, where most (non banished) posters have had a “You go girl!” attitude regarding this controversial topic. But America has decided that my “extreme” position was far too librul for the American heartland, and I can’t muster the energy to disagree.

My plan for now is to avoid politics and hunker down in my blue oasis within the awfulness that is America.

I really need to do the same but it's a struggle. Yesterday I was sad. Today I'm enraged. I thought we were better than this, that America is better than this, but apparently we aren't. How can I trust people around me who smile so I will think they are good people but inside their souls are black? I'm not sure how to cope with this other than to withdraw into my books and shows and stay away from people right now. I don't know who to trust anymore.

Thats how i typically vote, i believe in womens rights, and equal treatment, but seems that is to liberal, i live in a progressive city in a red state, how long that will last in Trumps empire, i dont know, like you, i have decided to avoid politics, social media and put my head down and try to make the best of what is coming, blaming each other now for what happened no longer matters, Ive seen maga on facebook ramp up their mocking of celebraties like Ron Pearlman who supported Kamala and we now seem to be ok in the country enbracing hate and bigorty, Im not sure how anyone here will beleive in law and order when 71 million people just elected and convicted felon because he hates who they hate and get you cheap eggs.
My heart breaks for every little girl who know thinks there is no hope for them, for LGBT people who will have all their hard fought rights taken away, immigrants who will be put in detention camps and deported for simply wanting what we used to be, the light of freedom, so, now where does the world turn to when they need hope? America was never perfect, but we at the least gave the world hope that someone cared and would help, now, we are just another dictatorship run by religious zeolots, my heart hurts for my mom who is 74 and just watched the country she grew up believing in die on Tuesday, she is scared for her future, Ive spoken to several of my female friends who are despressed that this country sees them as less than a person, all because we forgot who we were and decided Trump was a better choice than a women with experience, this country is about to have a reckoning.

This, too. My daughter is disabled and requires a high dose birth control pill to treat her endometriosis. How long will she be safe? She's queer on top of that. My heart bleeds for her.

I can't believe that I, a 35 year old Millennial that ACTUALLY used homophobic slurs and other offensive words in Middle and High School, loved movies like Scary Movie, Rush Hour, Dude Where's My Car? and American Pie, am now WAY more liberal and progressive than the younger generations right now.

I agree, we have been told over and over we are the beacon of freedom and Americans are decent, kind and open minded, since Trump emerged from his hole we see just how horribe americans can be, and will be, no one thinks we will hurt each other for a man, got news for you, there are thousands of people right now signed up with project 2025 to purge the government of people not loyal to Trump.
