Whats up with her looking like she did in the original cartoon? I expected an Irish woman.....

I wonder if they really will include the "fantasy" elements like Mushu, or just make it straightforward and realistic.
Do we know if this is going to be a musical?

EXCLUSIVE: Phoenix Possibly Replacing Mushu in 'Mulan'; Cast Will Not Sing Classic Songs -
A source close to us that has seen the film reports that a phoenix replaced Mulan’s beloved sidekick Mushu, and that while music from the animated film will be included in the remake, the songs will not be sung by the cast as the music is just instrumentals.
As time progresses, Disney will very likely use test screenings to gauge what changes – if any – need to be made via reshoots and post-production.
In fact, is there any way for somebody to maybe make some avatars out of any of those shots from the trailer, of Mulan fighting?...
I hope this works!

thanks. I actually think being a non musical and not including Mushu sidekick works better for this type of film.
though I expect there will be a new version of Reflections to play over the end credits - just hope they don't try to "modernize" it......yuck.
anyways, looking forward to this. Being half-Chinese, I've got to support Disney's only Asian Princess.
I don't know what to think. It looks beautiful but the lack of Shang and Mushu just makes me uncomfortable.
And yeah, this looks nothing like Disney's Mulan. It's gonna be a totally different movie.
No way. It's more likely that they added a sequence where she fights dressed as a woman, probably after she's already been discovered. Is Mulan no longer impersonating a man in this movie?
They're not taking them out... they're replacing them with different fantasy elements. lolI think taking the fantasy elements out of the story is a mistake, if that is what they’re doing.
