Disney's Thor?! Some people are complaining that Thor feels like a kids movie!

Yea i'm not saying the action was bad. But it wasn't as isane and out there as I expected. The way it was shot and edited was kinda generic. It wasn't brutal or visceral enough.

I will say though, the part at the end of the Frost Giant battle where Thor takes flight... that was ****ing awesome.

The Tornado was cool yea, but i'd have liked to have seen a more physical battle first. Thor and The Destroyer trading blows with each other, Thor realizing he can't beat with The Destroyer by just battering it, then taking to the air and unleashing the more exotic powers of Mjolnir. There wasn't really a showcase of Thor's raw, physical strength in the entire film.

I thought the final chase and fight against the drones in IM2 was much more spectacular.

Are you really suprised about that? Because I'm definately not, I already knew that was going to be the case before the film was even shot.

I can't see how a chase scene and fight with a few robots is better than the scale of the tornado scene, but I guess to each his own.

The tornado scene lasts about 2 minutes. It's literally; makes tornado, dodges/deflects a couple of blasts from the Destroyer, then takes it out.

And yea i am surprised that Thor's raw strength wasn't showcased. Why wouldn't i, or any Thor fan be? His immense strength is a defining attribute of the character. I mean, why not show him fly at the Destroyer, give it an almighty whack with Mjolnir, causing a concussive blast with the impact, and send it flying back a mile? THAT would have been epic. Or show him pick up a car and throw it at the Destroyer like it weighs nothing.

I feel the same way, that would've been awesome, but Marvel seems to look over Thor's strength alot in recent media (Hulk Vs, Ultimate Avengers, he even barely uses his strength in A:EMH).

Yea I get what you're saying. But it's still annoying. I just can't see this Thor going toe to toe with the Hulk. Not saying they'll necessarily fight in The Avengers. Just saying that Thor doesn't seem to be anywhere near Hulk in the strength department going by what i've seen in this film and in The Incredible Hulk.

How would you know that if Thor doesn't perform any strength feats? Besides, Thor isn't Hulk, he has many other abilities besides super strength.

Most people have been saying that movie Thor would crush Hulk based on how unstoppable he is in Thor.

Yeah, that's true.

Actually in the movie we did see feats of super-Strength from Thor if you look closely. The problem is that Thors Stregth feats arent that Impressive. In fact his Super stregth is below Movie Spiderman.
But i enjoyed it nevertheless.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but to my knowledge Spider-man never created a shockwave.

To me the super strength thing looked so rediculous in Superman Returns, and in Ang Lee's Hulk. The Incredible Hulk is probably the best use of super strength I've seen in a movie, where it was huge, but didn't blow your suspension of disbelief.

This is comic book movies, I want my belief blown, I want to see unbelievable feats of strength. That's one of the problems, they aren't showing how strong and powerful these guys really are!

In the FF4 movies, they didn't come close to showing how strong the Thing really is?

I want the filmmakers to stop being scared and go for it, show Thor grabbing the Destroyer and throwing him thru a building, that's the kind of superhero action the fans are looking for.

I'm also one of the ones that likes these movies done more seriously, make them hardcore and totally bad_ _ _!

Judging by what people are saying that it looks like a kid film is exactly what I felt when watching the Fantastic Four films, there is no sense of danger or thrills because the storylines aren't exciting, I mean isn't that why FOX is wanting to reboot the FF series to make it harder edge?

I haven't seen the Thor movie yet but I don't think it'll make SM numbers, too bad too since fans are probably looking for more sequels.

There's a trailer scene that I think is in Jotunheim where he smashes his hammer causing a shockwave.
Key word there-Hammer.That was a display Of Mjolinirs power not Thors stregth. He hit the ground with Lightning from Mjolnir.

It doesn't have to make sm numbers to have sequels. And this movie is nothing like FF.

i'd say just lifting mjolnir shows his strength, he even tosses mjolnir up in the air and catches it like it was nothing. on earth he only had his power briefly so wait till avengers to see him using his superstrength.

i know his strength has nothing to do with why he can lift mjolnir but he did send a frost giant flying with one whack, so there is your show of strength. also showing him throw people around without his power should tell you right there that with his true power he must be a behemoth. they just didnt show it since he has this awesome weapon they wanted to convey first.

Again that only shows the power of mjolonir not Thors brute strength.Lifting Mjolonir requires no effort to Thor.
Dont get me wrong Thor did display Superstregth in the movie.I rember him kicking a Frost giant over a great distance.

You're wrong here. Thor smacking frost giants displays both his brute strength and mjolnir's power.

first of all, in the paragraph you quoted of me i clearly stated i know strength has nothing to do with why thor can lift mjolnir.

i think when thor uses mjolnir as a hammer, a blunt instrument it shows his strength. if mjolnir was a gun and thor pistol whipped someone would you say the gun did it or was it thor's strength that generated the force needed to knock someone out? i guess it is debatable whether using mjolnir as a blunt weapon is actually the user or mjolnir. i still think its thor that created the force needed to knock the frost giant away so far

I think I would've liked some clear showing on Earth that Asgardians are a race of superhumanly powerful beings in and of themselves even without enchanted weapons. At least this movie in no way closes the door to that being shown in the future.

it kinda did show the asgardians as more than men.
when they came to earth and fought the destroyer, thor said he couldn't fight with them because he was only a mortal and would put them in more danger if they had to look after him as well in the fight. the asgardians were taking shot from the destroyer's beam and not dying, so i think it came across as them being more than men.

In the context of the movie I think its preety clear that Its Mjolonir that did it all.

I really didn't like any of Iron Man's action in both movies, sure it was pretty cool but really thats the best they could come up with. It's a man in a suit of weaponized armor and those are the action scenes they came up with, disappointing. I understand the complaints about Thor not using his natural strength but if you have the hammer why would you want to pick up a car and throw it or throw a punch, you have a freakin hammer not too mention the ability to create lightning and tornadoes. I loved the Destroyer fight because in a few scenes in the movie we're shown how powerful this thing and then once Thor gets his power back boom done. The scene shows how powerful Thor is.

To some people, you need blood, guts and rampant (female) nudity to be 'mature'. Which is odd because the people that enjoy those things the most are 13 year olds.

I just would've like more of a mix of both.
