Do Americans Say "Awesome" too much?

While hanging with my friends, I've come to notice that the word "Awesome" is used quite a bit within our circle...and out of our circle. It seems like "Awesome" is used by nearly all my friends everyday.

So, do you think Americans say "Awesome" too much?

I can't say it enough...what an awesome word! I'm gonna have to insert it as my word of the day now I'm gonna wear it out on people today, but they'll probably never notice because awesome is such a great word.

Blacks tend to use cool as in, "yeah, that's cool, man." Or, "coo". Not "cool." C-o-o. Or "that's straight", or "tight." We all know as soon as the whiteys start using slang it no longer becomes hip...didn't you read your black handbooks?

It's used way too much by me, but I do it mostly because me and my friend annoy everyone with it.

The last time I remember hearing anyone say awesome with any regularity was nearly 20 years ago. But at that time, yes, it was way over used.
