I have what might be considered an "interesting" opinion on the possibility of alien life. Judging from what I've read (both Biblical and elsewhere), I suspect that originally, we as a race were meant to be witnesses for God, to all life in the known universe. When the Fall happened, God may have put a different plan into place, similar to His response in sending Christ. These days, if there are any aliens out there, my guess is they're probably not too different from us. I doubt they'd have "powers", but it could be possible. God only knows, I guess...

The universe is so rediculously vast that as far as I'm concerned, there HAS to be life, and not just dumb life, but more than likely intelligent life.

Will we meet these aliens (or even recieve any kind of signal from them) any time soon? I don't know, but I doubt it. Nonetheless, that doesn't negate the fact that they're probably out there.
