Days of Future Past Do you consider DOFP an X3 sequel or a FC sequel?

I'm just wondering with all the original trilogy cast that are returning and with singer himself back, what was once positioned as the FC sequel is now starting to look more and more like X-Men 4.

I've actually seen it almost equally refered to in the media as X4 as FC2. What do you consider it more as?

Since half of the characters that appeared in X3 are in this movie! With the cast of First Class, they dropped Emma Frost, Havok, Banshee, Angel Salvadore, Riptide and Azazel - characters that we thought we will see in a FC sequel but no they dropped them. With the cast of X3, the only ones that they didn't bring back are the ones who died, Beast who moved to DC, Mystique and Angel.

Even if the core four of FC gets a lot of screentime, I'm sure the core 3 of the OT will get a lot of screentime too.

But I really hope its gonna look like that its X-Men 4! I've been waiting for X4 since freaking 2006!

It's not so much a sequel. It's more of its own kind of thing.

And that's how I view it. Nothing about Days of Future Past seems like a First Class sequel or X-Men 4. This is bigger than both of those.

Interesting i wonder if the money is going to be there to fufill that prediction? FC seemed to be on a smaller scale than at least X-3 and X2.

So i wonder if this film really is going to be on that next level? People may forget but X-3 was apparently one of the most expensive movies ever at it's time.

its still continuing the stories of both timeline, which means its a sequel

If the Xavier/Magneto relationship is still the main focus of the movie, I'd say it's closer to FC thematically, since it was never really the main focus of the OT. But we'll see I guess.

Wolverine,Xavier,and Magneto are all looking like they time travel back to 1973.

The fact remains much of first Class cast was dropped while a lot of OT cast are back and so far out of new characters only Trask and Quicksilver are pure 1973 characters.

People can try to convince themselves otherwise, but its clearly both. I think people are just working themselves up about all this X4 nonsense. Most of the movie will take place in 1973 with the FC characters, Trask, and Wolverine. The X3 cast (excluding wolverine) will not have that much screen time.
