Do you have a best friend?

:csad: I hope the drunk driver went to jail.

He did. I was going through some old school yearbooks the other day and found our kindergarten picture. The cool thing out of all of it is that he always wanted to go to Hawaii but never got too. We buried him in a cemetery in Hawaii that's on top of a mountain overlooking the Pacific ocean. Beautiful ceremony.

i used to have 4 best friends...one screwed me over with my ex and then wanted to fight me because i stopped talking to him(hes a druggy now)...one stopped hanging out...(but comes by to chill occasionally)...one started acting strange and then stopped hanging out and just recently moved to cali...and one is my brother...so now i only have one best friend

Friendship social traning from the corporate secret keeping school. I like it. :D
Well it's just that normally people always get upset because a best friend didnt deliver the goods or betrayed them or took them for granted.

With that bitter end lies a host of information and when you become sucessful, it's this information that they'll use to try and tear you down.

so you're safer to spread the knowledge and not have entities you are really dependant on.

Then again, I'm mildly paranoid.

I used to have 2, but their girlfriends got in the way of that. I was/am apparently the only 1 out of us 3 who could budget "friend time" and "girlfriend time". So now, I just have a crapload of really good friends

I've been their. Girls have destroyed alot of mens friendships. I had one bestfriend in high school who as soon as he started dating this girl dropped all of his friends. He doesn't have anyone now except this girl.
My significant other is my best friend.

Yeah....

You poor poor man :waa::D

I tell my girl we are bestfriends but its so not true ;)

I have 3. My best friend since I was 2. My best friend since high school. And my girlfriend.

I'm more of a loner, I tend to keep to myself than socializing with people. I have a best friend but we don't see each other as much as we used very little in fact.

I don't have a significant other technically, I was just repeating what you hear from people.

There's two/three people one I consider my best friends. There's another person I practically consider my sister.

This is a problem, but its an inherent problem whenever you get to know anyone really well and that saftey net of lee-way quickly disappears. However, also some of it has to do with our own self-importance and perception of things. For example, I left my glasses in my best friend's car, his g/f notify me about it, now I didn't do anything about it for 2 weeks and now they're missing. Part of me is pissed my best friend couldn't just take them out and put them someplace safe, however I probably should of got them 2 weeks ago. So I just let it go...

I think that for long term, serious couples that is often true. Spoons was my friend before we started dating, and I still consider him my best male friend. I hate when people who've just started dating claim "Oh, my sig other is my bestest friend!", though. I also don't think it's healthy to have your sig other be your only close friend...I think people forget how important it is to have someone of your own gender to go to to talk and spend time with.

Aw. That's cool man. :)

I have a few close friends whom I met in highschool a while back and recently at work.

I used to have a very best friend but she moved away without telling me and this was around grade 3 or 4. After that, I was pretty much beside myself until I went to highschool.

I once had a girlfriend who was kind of jealous. You see, my best friend happens to be a girl so we were hanging out one day and she got pissed about it. So we had the whole conversation on how she didn't like the fact that I was hanging out with her etc. etc. I've been friends with her since the 3rd grade come on. She wanted me to stop seeing her, and I was like "No, that's my best friend." and she responded with "I'm your girlfriend, I'm supposed to be your best friend." she even started crying. She then made me choose between her and my best friend, I chose my best friend.:csad:

Did your girlfriend get to meet and hang out with your best friend? That usually helps if there is any jealousy involved. When Spoons and I first started dating I struggled with the fact that he has so many female friends (and just as many males, I came to realize...he's just a popular boy :o), and then I started to get to meet and hang out with some of them, and we became friends too.
