Nope never.

In fact I can't think of any really good Spidey villain fights with each other.

Maximum Carnage was nothing but one long fight scene. I liked the Osborn/Hobgoblin fight in Goblins at the Gate in Spectacular, but it was a little short. Sandman vs Hydro-Man was entertaining.

True very trure. Now, off-topic, I 100% love your avy, Hobby. That part of the video always sticks out to me.

Even more off-topic:
Go buy Aliens on Blu-Ray. Right now. :wow:

But those preview pages do look cool.

Ok, noob question: what's the avatar from?

Its from Pearl Jam's music video from "Do the Evolution." Animation by Todd McFarlane.

So what did everyone think of todays issue? I never expected to see an Ock/Lizard battle.

For serious. And I'm hanging a hope on this arc restoring Ock to something more like his normal self. I am NOT fond of corpse-Ock. :P

Am reading Adam Troy-Castro's double Sinister Six novel again, in between a really excellent "young adult" crypto-drama novel called Maze Runners (it's like "Lost" meets Cube). Good stuff (both).

The S6 novels were PHENOMENAL.

I've heard it compared to the final battle in that story where Ock ends up fighting the Green Goblin. In the Marvel Knights line, I think? Anyway, in it the writer pretty much ends up using Ock as a blunt weapon by making it so his mind's been messed with. Grunt grunt smash.

Bleah.

Well, one of the Lizards new powers is bringing human's minds down to the level of a reptiles, so that's to be expected. :o

Yeah, because the folks at Marvel haven't figured out that the term "lizard brain" is a figure of speech and not meant to be taken literally.

Honestly, if someone's brain was made reptilian, I'd expect them to be more apt to go lie in the sun than engage in chaos, violence, and rapine.

Sorry to be so pedantic, but a) I'm an animal nerd and b) I think the Lizard's new power is idiotic and tasteless.

That's largely because if Ock had all of his mental resources available, Osborn would be no match for him. In a straight up fight between Doctor Octopus and the Green Goblin, Otto would defeat him, easily. The only way Ock loses that battle is Editorial Mandate, the one foe no hero or villain can defeat.

The latest issue of ASM happened on Halloween. Harry took the little baby, Stanley, whom Ock had been after in the recent arc, to a costume party. Just look at who the baby is dressed up as:

:awesome:

Did anyone read the latest issue of ASM? Doc Ock and his Sinister Six are back, and my oh my it sounds like Ock has some BIG plans.

Plus the mayhem and destruction he causes in the City in this issue alone was just delightful :otto:

He does. But it's business. Ock stated at the start of Origin of the Species the advantages he can offer them in return for their services.

There's a great scene where
Sandman gets really angry at Ock when he learned his giant Octobots are set to self destruct, because his daughter is in NY and could die.

"Butterfingers!"

Love the facial expression he makes when he says that.

I was reading this new Newsarama interview with Dan Slott on ASM, and this one part caught my eye.

Nrama: Among all the stuff that happened in #648 it also, almost incidentally, introduced the new Sinister Six. Are they going to continue to make their presence felt for a while?

Slott: Doc Ock has a master plan, and you will see it building. Something I can say now is, it won’t just be building in The Amazing Spider-Man. That’s how big it is. You will see Doc Ock in other places. The Sinister Six are going to be big!

:wow:
