World Doc Ock's lair

The whole point of a fan fiction is for fantasizing. Rape fantasies walk on the darker side of the fetishes, but there is always some degree of control that a real rape lacks. I'm not saying any of that makes it right, but there you go.

It was stupid anyways because rape is one crime Octavius would or even could not commit I don't think.

He can murder, blow up cities, steal, pull extortion schemes and so much more. But sexual crimes?? No way.Not his style. He would never force himself on a woman.

Ock has little to no respect for women. But he'd never rape one. It's not his style. He couldn't do it.

Aw, give him some credit. I'm sure somewhere in that black little heart he has one iota of respect for women. Stunner, for one. :)

I've got to round up all the Ock stuff and take an updated photo of the collection. I think I'm going to wait until my 'office' space is finished first though so I can decorate the area with everything Doc Ock. It's going to be great. :D

I agree, Ock couldn't rape anyone.

Then again, Gwen Stacy couldn't have cheated on Peter Parker, but some egomaniacal editors and writers and a whole bunch of sycophantic, dim-witted so-called "fans" seem to think she could have.

Give J. Michael Straczinsky five minutes with Dr. Octopus and in a few short months, we might see a totally new side of him that supposedly was always there. Perhaps a bit of off-panel nastiness with Betty Brant might appear suddenly out of thin air and get awkwardly jammed into the past. After all, Doc Ock was kind of a one-dimensional character that needed that extra bit of evil to become "real" and "complex."

If you're thinking this rant is irrelevant, I thought so too, for a second. I remember now that what prompted a remembrance of "Sins Past" was the mention of irreconcilable fan fiction. Not that many dots to connect when you think about it.

Rant over. For now...

So you finally admit he likes his rocker haired bombshell eh :p :D

And you are right he does respect her, even Carolyn Trainer me thinks. But these women are also useful to him.Just like Aunt May was.

There has to be something in it for him too.Always.

Dammit Logan don't give them ideas  They probably read these boards. In fact I'm positive they do.

Ock is not a rapist,he didn't rape Betty Brant or get anyone pregnant.Leave Ock alone JMS

Ock is plenty dimensional without forcing himself on a woman.Sociopaths exist. They are out there all around us.Many of them ticking time bombs of rage and arrogance like Octavius was before his accident.

Only difference is Octavius' rage and resentment on the world was unleashed, and worst of all he got a deadly power in the process.

I thought "Sins Past" has been filed under "it never happened' in the Spider-Man library?

Officially? I don't think so.

Fans and creators with integrity and loyalty know it never could have happened in continuity, but the decaying shell of a corporation that is Marvel Comics (formerly aka the "House of Ideas") believes in that blasphemy. The bastards...

Ohh, can't wait for the office to be done. I'll come check it out in a month :D

Yea, the rape thing is not a Doc Ock thing, not his style... but after reading that fic, it really sounds like like a dark side of Otto rather than Ock. Who says Otto was all gumdrops and candy canes, i'm sure he had a dark fetish side and now had a muse for it. Agreed there's more control in a story rape than real-life and is probably alot hotter sounding than real-life for real rape is traumatizing.

I love your new avvy Nick

Merci Monsiour. From the art of Silver S no doubt.

And yes, that was above all my favorite stance and motion. It was a perfect blend of stress with his emotion and the motion of the tentacles. Sheeeeeer force, gotta love that. And so quick!

OMG lol Silver S where are you you wily thing????

I was reading your journal entries over at Deviant Art.And there was one you made about your Ock obsession, how you first came obsessed with him (a great story btw.You should post it here).

And the people over there were replying and this one person comes along and says something along the lines of "I'm a lesbian and I thought Ock was hot".

LMAO! :D It was like a gathering of people who thought Molina was sexy as Ock.

"You can keep your Brad Pitt's and Ewan Mc Gregors or whoever you like.I like my men chubby, man boobed and with tentacles" :D :D

The question is more where -didn't- I write about my Ock obsession. :D There was quite the following of Ock fans at Deviant Art, and tons of Ock fan art.

Now I've got to go find that entry and re-read it.

Hahaha, here it is.

"Anyone who is obsessive over Doc Ock, this post is for you. Or even if you just find him mildly intriguing, for whatever reason, this post is still for you. That sounds like a commercial catchphrase, but I don't know what for...

Anyway, the point.

Did anyone find their obsession over Ock immediate? Like, hit by a Mac truck immediate? This wasn't like a few weeks later I said, "Yeah, I kinda like Doc Ock. He's neat." This was, "OMFG WTF this guy ROXORS MY SOXORS!" Perhaps I was a bit more intelligent sounding than that last sentence suggests. But do you understand? I wasn't prepared for this at all.

Someone had asked me if I had seen the new Spider-Man 2 teaser trailer, which at the time, was the only bit of video that had been released, so I hadn't missed the train completely. I didn't much care, really. But one night I found the Quicktime link and downloaded it. Out of sheer boredom. And I don't think it took more than a single viewing for me to realize I was in big, big trouble.

I was obsessed. Over a fictional character with a paunch, man boobs, and four mechanical limbs coming out of his backside. Oh yeah, that's real eyecandy right there. Seriously now, aren't I supposed to think people like Orlando Bloom and Jude Law are God's Gift to women? Oh no. I've got to go for the men thirty years older than me. With tentacles. It's something probably 1% of the population might understand. But your average, normal person, upon learning that I find Alan Rickman or Gary Oldman or Alfred Molina seriously huggable, I get The Look. You know what Look I mean, right? That one.

I was so disgusted with myself that I would watch the trailers with my headphones on after my poor roommate went to bed so she wouldn't have to watch my shameful spiral downward into fictional character obsession. And not just once. Over and over again. And pausing parts. And screencapping parts. And watching parts in slow motion. Over and over again. And then I could go to bed happy dreaming about how I couldn't wait for the movie to hit theaters.

Very rarely do I get to have this kind of fun though. Darth Maul was the flavor of the year eons ago, but it died out since there really wasn't much to do with him. But Doc Ock, he's got a firm grip in the Marvel universe. He's going to be here for a loooooooooong time. Which means I've got plenty of fuel for the fire.

Those of you who don't get it, and don't want to get it, I respect that. Just don't give me the patented Look everytime I eye my Ock clocktower poster and point out another detail in his tentacles that I've just noticed. You can have your Ewan McGregor and your Brad Pitt and your whoever else is hot on the silver screen right now...I'll take my order tall, tentacled, and wicked."

Ah, those were fun times.

You go girl.Super villains make the world turn.Where would we be without them??

"Did anyone find their obsession over Ock immediate? Like, hit by a Mac truck immediate? "

Yes it was.I was 12 yrs old at the time.Something just clicked.I don't know what, but there was just something cool about a guy with shades and 4 metal tentacles coming out of his sides that struck a chord with me.

I was hooked :o

He was the one who called to me, so technically it's not really my fault.

I guess I don't win for hardcoreness. I was, as we all know, "liked Ock by association".

But hey, I still like the guy, mainly the tentacles and attitude.

ah yes, the voices in your head, the muses... they beckon appreciation. ;)

Blah, I got work tomorrow. If Doc Ock had a part-time job at sears, he probably wouldn't sell much cause of people's fears of him...

But the again, forget any manager trying to tell him what he can and cannot do.

Bastards, I'd rule Sears with 4 tentacles

Nobody could resist him.I remember when the teaser poster was released at the comic con in 2003.People went CRAZY with excitement. After GG's disappointing costume there was some worry over how Ock would look.

That poster not only dispelled any worries we had,but made us MAJOR hyped for the movie.

How can you not like him??

He is like the villain of class, sophistication and genius.Easily Spider-Man's intellectual equal if not more so.Not to mention he can go anywhere Spider-Man can go,cover city blocks in a matter of instants, and swing subway trains like baseball bats with his tentacles.

I'm one whose a bit more taken by Silver's "Lars".

That guy is crazy badass for a normal person. Always liked the undercover style of a badass.

Nothing against Doc Ock of course ;)

Can you imagine how elated Alfred must have felt over hearing the news that people loved his image? :D As low key and gracious as the man appears to be, you bet he was feelin' the love that day.
