I agree, Ock couldn't rape anyone.
Then again, Gwen Stacy couldn't have cheated on Peter Parker, but some egomaniacal editors and writers and a whole bunch of sycophantic, dim-witted so-called "fans" seem to think she could have.
Give J. Michael Straczinsky five minutes with Dr. Octopus and in a few short months, we might see a totally new side of him that supposedly was always there. Perhaps a bit of off-panel nastiness with Betty Brant might appear suddenly out of thin air and get awkwardly jammed into the past. After all, Doc Ock was kind of a one-dimensional character that needed that extra bit of evil to become "real" and "complex."
If you're thinking this rant is irrelevant, I thought so too, for a second. I remember now that what prompted a remembrance of "Sins Past" was the mention of
irreconcilable fan fiction. Not that many dots to connect when you think about it.
